But I sat on it till it squeaked, and held it up high dangling from my fingers or the top of a door, like a human hanging off a cliff, and I don't snap until I get the "I feel bad" feeling and I say sorry multiple times. Honestly I do feel bad but it doesn't kick in until a certain point. That cat died 2 days later.

I take a thin rubber hose, and stick it in their ass. Like a good 6 inches up there. Tape it there so it can't come out. 4 days later, remove the tape. Let the cat walk around all weird, it's confused. Then yank the hose.
