i'm used to mx500/mx518/g500 and alike shape. my g500 broke recently, but since i replaced the cable it works fine again. however, i realize i'll have to buy a new one someday in the future. now, which one? those new g502 suck becuase logitech moved one of the thumb buttons, so that you either press that one lower, or two above the thumb. g500 has all three next to eachother and i'd rather stick to that.
so, which other mouse has similar shape and no design flaws like g502?

There are a lot of 50+dollar mice with shitty sensors, while some cheaper mice like ms intellimouse or logitech g300 have flawless sensors.

I experienced the opposite. My optical mice work on nearly every surface while the only lasermouse i ever got (a speedlink kudos) only works on a hard pad. It doesnt react on a clothpad even on 500dpi. I've heard a lot of similar things about lasermice, but since i only used one so far i'm not sure if you are generally right.

You did it wrong. Most ppl have no clue about technical details like sensors and are that casual that they wouldnt recognize the difference. So they only rate design and haptics.
I have a friend who bought a mouse and said it was great while playing cs go on 10k dpi.... so i wouldnt really give a lot about ratings and rather watch a review by someone who knows the matter.

Use the G502, great mouse, i love it. But it gets a bit tiring after a few hours. I used to use the g602 which imho is a lot more comfortable, portable and pleasurable to use. I would pay full price for the g602, not for the g502. Got the g602 $62 got the g502 $54 AUD.
