Probably the most sensible post here so far.

I subscribed to her channel super early on - and it was crazy how much she was improving from video to video. It was obvious she was really into her craft and focused on getting better - whether it was vocally, playing piano, or playing guitar.

In fact, I remember one of the first videos of hers I saw was a Hannah Montana song. I didn't care for the song at all - but it appeared that she had a ton of talent. The high notes were kind of difficult for her, but it really seemed like she was giving it her all - so I subscribed.

A few weeks later, she was tackling a new song with even HIGHER notes and she belted the shit out of them. Her Titanium cover and the various Christmas songs she performed really show the strength in her belt and the amount of breath support she could put behind her voice.

Around the time of her Titanium cover, I messaged her on YouTube to ask some questions about her recording setup. She was super friendly and helpful and pointed me in the right direction.

So - in summary - I respect and acknowledge her musical talent, even though I didn't care for a lot of the songs she covered. I think she genuinely cared about her fans, and she was really kind to me whenever I reached out to her.

The GoFundMe was set up by Laura Worley and it's unclear if she has any real connection to Christina's family or management. Her management has since appeared to have gotten on board, but it's not really clear that her family has a direct involvement.

The "goal" of the GoFundMe was only $4,000. It's not like they were asking for a fortune.

I've heard a lot of people say that Christina was "rolling in the dough" for herself and her family.

From my experience (as a keyboard player that has toured with a lot of teen singers) - these families don't have a ton of money and their kids rarely make make a huge fortune.

These families invest in their kids - invest in lessons, equipment, musicians, production facilities... They do all this so their kid has a better chance at getting signed (at least by a big label). It's ridiculous what you have to go through in order to appeal to a label that will offer you a good contract.
