You do get it all though. That's a lot of people's primary complaint with character progression in that game. Like 10 hours into a character you become an invincible god in your chosen role, and then you have to find some other role to max out. It reduces every character into a pile of stats in roughly the same shape after a good 30+ hours.

I loved being able to program in that game. Made me feel god like.

Most good games are old. I like old games emulated and cranked up much better than newer ones. Go try Quake Epsilon fe. Its amazing what modders do these days.

While I don't disagree with weapon diversity being awful, I've got to say that I've never had a problem rocking any type of weapon in the endgame.

The entire early game is pretty bad for things that aren't sword/shield and bow, but later on pretty much anything is viable. For dual wielding, getting the stamina sap sword from the thieves guild questline and any other decently enchanted sword sorts you out pretty fast. For twohanding I do the companions and get their magical racist axe because the base damage is decent enough until I find something better.

I'd say that magic is the only thing that doesn't feel even half decent in the endgame since you either have not enough mana or not enough health to get you through the day. Conjuring isn't so bad, though.

There's no way it will be any better than Skyrim in terms of bugs. Skyrim is the second most stable ES/FO game after Fallout 4, which is only any better because it's a significantly less fleshed out game. They've been using Spaghetti Engine since Morrowind and the same graphical bugs have existed through every single "remaking" of their engine.

Making a game slower doesn't necessarily make it more fun (or a better gameplay experience since so many of you hate "fun"). I've never found a mod that even touched on the uselessness of shops, and endgame weapons being handed to you is an unfixable problem, as it would be equally shitty if you could easily find or buy a better weapon than something that you quested for an hour for.
