I have been growing these bad boys in SoCal for maybe 8 weeks now. I lost track. I bought a few bags of foxfire soil and mixed it in with regular dirt in my backyard. You want to make sure the soil is soft so your roots can grow deep and your plants large. I water in the morning and evening everyday.

Okay so to make your own fertilizer, very inexpensive. You will want to get a bucket or a container or a compost bin if you have one, but i just used a bucket.

Fill it with some lawn clipping, leaves, anything that falls on the ground because that is the nitrogen your plants need.

You want to put them in the bucket and mix in some water every few days and them mix it around with a stick or your hands, and make sure you keep it covered after.

After a few weeks it should start to look like black mulch and then you are ready for next step

next i would go buy a ling tube sock and you will want to fill it with the black mulch.

Find another bucket and let the sock with mulch sit in a bucket of water for maybe a day or 2.

clear out any junk that might of come out while it was sitting in the water and you should have a brown looking liquid after.

If you dilute that brown liquid in with your watering container you can bring any plant back to life.

Ok so I've been growing for about three years but have been given advice from my uncle who is a retired gardener so I have some good advice. 1st off your over watering your plant witch is flushing it of all its nutrients. Also something very controversial that I found actually really worked. This is trimming the fan leaves when they are 2-3 weeks old, many people say 'oh your taking away their energy producing factories', bullshit, in the wild the plants would be fed upon, they are known afterall as a 'weed'. Trimming these shade leave dont only give encouragement to growing, but allows light penetration to budsites which essentially increase the growth hormones around where the buds are being produced.

It is 'controversial' but in all my previous grows (in spain) I had very, very good results, having bare minimum bullshit foliage, just the foliage around the buds->direct photosynthesis to the budsites without affecting light penetration of the canopy. cant say ive tried with autos this technique. And all you idiots, just make your own nutes into the soil like rainbow bloom mix is the best. All you need after that is a little extra nutes for final and then flush the shit out of them 2 weeks prior with tapering down to a full flush, and adjust the lights so the leafs yellow to take out the chlorophyll harshness taste, and keep them in the dark for couple days after yellowing.

I had a mother I was taking cuttings off of one point under a shitty chinese 90w, this mother fucker couldnt have cuttings taken off her fast enough, the rate of growth was incredible compared to MH , (obviously CFL's) and anything else ive seen.

I have also seen some astounding results from some grows, but it is quality over quantity still, need to pay the bucks to get the qual-ee-tay.

Do NOT trim the shade leaves while in flower. Do it in veg so all the MAIN heads get their sun, but leave them all alone once they near flower. Those leafs do all the work in flower, even if the colas are hidden. HOWEVER, if you have multi layered plants, once harvest time comes, harvest the top, finished nugs and then expose the bottom unfinished 2/3 for a few days, then the bottom 1/3 if you have lots of big lower ones worth doing so. I managed to get full kind top-like buds off every part of my blue city diesel by doing this. The bottoms purpled and matured right up after exposing them in the end.

You don;t need to water them that often. It's better to let them work a bit for water, so their roots stretch. You want those roots to access all that good soil you added, and have a good anchor for wind.

The apex LED's are very expensive short term to the HPS, alot of investment.

Why would you bother investing 2k$ on a light that you can get for 200$ that does the same thing just costs you more in long run and heat losses. Well, you wouldnt, because commercial growers tend to be off grid and use generators etc. So why invest all that money? well for other's lamplight and small heat signatures matched with low light bills all add's up. I dont know, im not trying to change your views pot growers tend to be some of the pretencious only thinking 'their way is the only way', but im a firm believer in do what you think works best and people get a mixed result from this.

For example I use little to no nutes, and pk13/14 a tiny bit right at the end of flowering before flush and got killer results.

Sadly not in a jurisdiction where I can experiment anymore but I will say hands down the best weed I ever had was outdoor grown, southern spain, and some of the biggest monsters I ever saw.

LED are prime for smaller sea of green plants. Just expensive to fix and buy and not worth the investment imo and very brand specific as knockoffs vs real deal brands vary in results dramatically. Also the panels themselves DO overheat easily unless properly cooled/ventilated somehow.

hey man im glad this works for you, I did read a controversial journal where the guy DID trim shade during flower. and like I said, I had much better results, its like the energy of the plant pushes right into the flower than it being all sapped up in the shade leaves that tend to get old and sluggish and limit light penetration.

But hey, dont listen to me do your own research, this worked very well for me stepping up my output from 4-5 oz per plant to 8 pretty rock solid. Again like popcorn buds, why the fuck keep them on your plant sapping energy away, trim them off and lollypop and get bigger heads...

Also, it could be genetic related but I tested mine on a few varieties and always the same. its a fucking weed, read about 'pruning' in normal plants, how it encourages growth in the same way airopots pruning roots encourages better root growth and distribution.

Or, alternately, get consistently lower yields, your choice, we are only talking 3-4 month cycles.

Majority of LED users have too hot a room or buy a knockoff brand or one without a warranty and burn their 2k$ led in under 6 months

baisically this, easily 2 weeks, I used to trim my plants as a whole item, not break into smaller parts.

The sugars and chloropast retract into the stems and break down more evenly leaving a better smoke this way. only after 1-2 weeks drying as the whole plant do you trim off individual buds for curing.

If you rock sativas like I tend, the huge fan leaves fall off on their own so it's not a biggie to worry about. Sativas flush way easier too, and haze specifically grows better outside in pnw US like Oregon than Indica actually because Indica rot too soon before finish. Sativas last past the first rains of sept and then can be harvested. Indica are a pain, they finish too soon but not soon enough and are too thick and trap too much moisture outdoors. Indoors ya I'd consider getting rid of some big fan leafs but never have to since I already did in veg, so top layer already got its full light

Hair browning/red /orange is not a definitive sign. Sample bud should be taken, and inspected via microscope to make sure trichomes are milky white rather than crystal clear. Every plant will be at different stage as well. Some prancing of a few trichomes is actually preferred imo for a smoother taste and euphoric high, but those who harvest crystal-milky seem to love getting paranoid and awkward highs. To each their own, but a partly oranged sativa is my fav. Especially with a girl. They will get too wet to function. Hazes and traditional Thais are best. actually i prefer to harvest early, less cbd in the plant, it forms at the latest stages of growth. powerful sativas grown in this way are intense. my mind races at 1000mph instantly. i've given people panic attacks with my earlier than norm harvests, kek
