what happens after death?
>>
Same thing that happened before you were born... nothing.
>>

Everything continues without you

Nobody knows. So everything you imagine can happen

>>688790243
i'll tell you then - what happens when you stop supplying a computer with power
>>
You cease to exist as an alive human
>>

Can you be more specific? Like what happens to your body? Or conciousness

Absolutely nothing.
>>
>>688790828
Actually your body will be worked on in some manner, like rot and feed plants
>>
>>688789424
Everybody forgets about you and everything you did in life will not matter for shit because they have already replaced you.
>>
U wot
>>
>>688791036
Depends on the people
>>
When you die you go to the same nothingness that you were before birth, so chances are you just become new life with no remnants of your former self.
>>
>>688790430
It turns off. Dies for a monent, if you want so. But you can reconnect the power and turn it back on at any monent. Can you do the same with human life?
Don't think that it was actually a good analogy.

Sort of hard to decide because theres no difference. So look at it like that! Whether you die tomorrow or 50 years later you are dying

>somebody choked me for a minute (stopping bloodflow to brain)

Whats next, my liver stopped working for 5 minutes, which is a vital organ, so I was dead and then came back to life?

Death is not even an experience of darkness.
It is total lack of experience, of any sort.
After death, there is no longer a you, to experience anything,
including darkness.

It might be easier to think about this if you realize that you are not a thing (the physical body, that produces the illusion of your identity), but you are a process (something your body is doing). You are a sort of complex, chemical flame, burning in the cells of a human body. When you die, that flame goes out, because those cells are no longer doing you.

A blown out candle flame does not experience the darkness that results from its absence.

Taking away the roughly 7.4 billion who are alive today, we get 100.8 billion who have died before us. There are almost 14x more people dead than alive! Heaven and hell aren't physical realms they exists within us all. It's all energies even "God" is an energy, to be godly is to be free of your ego and to be all loving and understanding. God isn't a man, heaven isn't a place, hell isnt a place. Their just analogies. Kind of ironic how people put themselves through hell in hopes to get into heaven as they know it

They're ideas, stories, fairytales. Whatever you choose to believe. You won't however, find out the truth until after death, so there's no point in worrying about it.

Apparently my Grandfather died for a couple of minutes and then came back to life. He said he was waiting in line with a bunch of other people.
>>
>>688802823
It's not what I choose to believe it's what I feel. I never predicted what's after death I'm just saying that heaven is a state of mind not a place. To think anything outside of our reality mirrors our reality is absurd. It goes to show how much we think of ourselves

>>688789424
Your body and the entirety of its chemical makeup return to the universe, weather that be through the ground or through particles in the air when you're burnt. You affect the people around you, whether that be family and friends, or the strangers that find your body, the nurse and doctors who looked after you in hospital or the funeral home directors who prepare your body.
You go to sleep and you don't wake up, but that's okay because having a life to begin with is a 1 in an unfathomable number.

That's what happens after your death.

> get to the point of seeing visions of weird things that might happen in my life they never happened
> finally one day decide to try again at medtating
> i concentrate on my forehead and get into calm state in a dark room
> get into a deep trance for about 40 minutes
> i pass out from concertraitng i forgot to breath after awhile
> i feel like im still awake i have no body but i can feel sight
> i look around its very dark like a void almost

Taking control of your life is one thing and obvious positive.
Going deep in your thoughts what happens when you die, is totally different thing.
The things you expirience when you become too curious about death/life after life might change your uncoscious mind the way you really don't want in to change.

I bet you have heard stories about people who were smart and "normal" and become some weirdos over the night.

>>
>>688804973
I don't find nothingness all that hopeless.
As certain as it is that we were born, it's also certain that we must die.
It's a clean beginning and end to a story. Why does there have to be something after?
>>
Nothing. Your consciousness ends and you experience nothing, or rather, there's not even a you to experience it anymore. The phenomenon of you the person ever thinking, experiencing, knowing, or doing anything ever again ends forever, with no possibility of ever beginning again, the parts of your material form decay and are carried away by different phenomena to becomes part of something else, and eventually, you're forgotten.

You don't experience blackness or whiteness. Blackness and whiteness are living experiences. You don't experience an empty mind. There's no mind left. You don't experience sleep. Even dreamless sleep, despite being considered the experience of nothingness, is just the bare minimum of what conscious life can experience and is a living experience. You're not "gone" and you haven't passed "away." You have ended, and you have been destroyed.
>>
>>688805349
what did i exactly do then?
>>
>>688805380
>The things you expirience when you become too curious about death/life after life might change your uncoscious mind the way you really don't want in to change.

Again, I disagree. To be rational and thoughtful about death is to understand the inevitability of it. I'd rather spend my life comfortable with it's end then waiting for something I'm uncertain of.
>>
>>688803325

>>
>>688805783
The best way to do it is experience it alone, with someone sober to look out for you. Even if they're just in the same house or whatever, having someone with a clear head is a good idea. Doesn't mean you have to sit with them or anything. Just be sure to offer to be sober for them next time, share the love and all that.

Ok, i totally understand you from your point of you. But let me give you mine:
Your conscious mind CAN be rational and thoughtful, your uncoscious mind CAN'T.
And the trick is:
1. You could never, EVER get the answer you are looking for on conscious level
2. Uncoscious mind is much, muuuch more powerful then conscious
3. Uncoscious mind DO NOT use logic or rational thinking
4. EVERYTHING you learn your uncoscious mind from conscious level will be taken as pure fact, no matter if its true or wrong.

P.s. dont get me wrong, if you eant to go deep, then go.

There is (theoreticaly) nothing wrong with nuclear bombs, as long as you have control over them, as long as you are aware of their power and as long as you know how to use them and use them wisely.

But as you probably know, when nuclear bomb was used, "wisely" or not, it made more demage than anything else

>your uncoscious mind CAN'T.

Disagree. Many religions focus on understanding and controlling the unconscious mind. Look at Buddhism; it's all about being in control of ones thought processes and base desires. Not saying it's easy; like you said, it's by nature irrational, but it's definitely tamable. If you've got an entire life to work on that, why not try?

>1. You could never, EVER get the answer you are looking for on conscious level

I think you can get to the point of an acceptance, and I don't think that could be achieved without inward thinking.

>4. EVERYTHING you learn your uncoscious mind from conscious level will be taken as pure fact, no matter if its true or wrong.

Not true at all. How many times have you felt angry at someone, but were able to calm yourself down by rationally thinking it out? That's an example of your conscious mind taking charge of the id.

I get where you are coming from, I just think that maybe you're giving more power to your subconscious mind than it really deserves. It's not a big scary monster looking to control you or anything, and you can certainly 'communicate' with it if you put your mind to it.

I'd say that it really depends on the institution and also on you and your fellow students. Somebody has to really give a fuck about it and not think that every question is easy, people have to be willing to be wrong and to be respectful, and you'll be very much inhibited by even one prick who wants to turn it into a him-waving contest. Also, a lot of people don't think they have to do their readings or their homework or really think about anything in order to be right.

What budists do in meditation (and so do i) is that they go over the thought and not under. They observe thoughts/though processes and not unconscious mind. Once you can notice the thought, you notice it with conscious mind.
Have you ever asked where the thoughts come from? You (like none of the buddists) will never find an answer for that. Of course from uncoscious mind, but from where exactly?
Sit down, close your eyes and ask yourself: "where will my next thought come from?" "What will be my next thought?" And then observe

To the guy whi mentioned my spelling: don't waste your priceless time for my shitty spelling. Because if you are doing thst in this thread, you are doing it in other threads too. Replace that routine for something more beneficial for yourself :)

Actually I am Buddhist and regularly meditate. It started when I was suggested it by a doctor and led on from there. I think that's a pretty butchered understanding of the purpose of meditation, to be honest.

The point of meditation is to better understand the mind, and so it will always be working towards a goal of understanding the root of your though processes. To me, that sounds exactly like what you are describing.
>>

Mediation can be a relaxer, both physically and mentally. I meditate when I'm stressed or confused or confused by my past. You can leave your mind blank, or you can explore your thoughts and better understand yourself and the world. It's not for everybody though.

I'll take the bait so:
If we did have a "spirit" we would have conscience since before we gained a physical body. Being able to be conscientious only after we have attained a body shows that our mind is within the body, one it's dead so it's the conscience. Being dead is not a big deal, you're scared because your instincts tell you to survive, but you won't even notice death so don't be afraid my underaged friends.

>>688808508

I highly recomand it. If you will put that from the book in practice (practicing "the now") and combine it with meditation (which have same goal), you wil win.

Are all living things conscious
>>
>>688808794

>>
>>688808962
You could say that but you need extraordinary evidence to support extraordinary claims. Proof for afterlife doesn't exist.
>>
>>688809166
Practicing "the now" means not saving for retirement
We're getting rid of social security
Which means you're fucked

>>
>>688809421
I'm not making any claims, just offering alternatives. Your claims or counter claims about metaphysical reality require just as much extraordinary evidence because you're making assertions about a future life.

Anything done a priori done through concepts alone will not garner any results that can relate back to any possible experience because we're stuck working with our a priori forms of intuition of space and time as well the concepts of the pure understanding (cause, substance, etc) which structure our experience but cannot therefore be used to go and make claims beyond experience. Reason is the seat of certain concepts that precede experience amd make it possible, but we are not therefore entitled to draw conclusions about the natural world from these concepts if they go beyond any possible experience.

The universe is oscillating from a starting point to an ending point very rapidly. Except there's no reverse "back swing". At each starting point, the laws of physics may be different. We are experiencing a mathematical average of these oscillations. We are literally a harmonic. Basically everyone has already been everyone and everything but we are stuck in the one we hated the most, ergo, that's why the passage of the universe seems so slow to each one of us.

>>688810024

>>
>>688810778
Universe starts and finishes in an unmeasurably small amount of time over and over forever. We are either experiencing just one oscillation , in which case there will be unlimited chances to experience something again, or we are experiencing a harmonic of all of the oscillations that have ever occurred and ever will, and there will truly be nothing after death.
