Snowpiercer is a bit basic with the theme but it's well executed
>>688718070
This movie could have been so much better if they didn't go for a pg-13 rating. But they did and it's shit now.

told a friend too watch this movie. he said movie sucks.
what is his problem? can i tell him that he is just stupid???
>>688718070
The ending is pure fucking shit though. OK great it's not freezing so hard any more that you instantly die, but have fun finding fucking food in all that snow. Or shelter. Or anything. That ending pissed me off so much.
>>688720188
>it's well executed
It's really well executed. I'd never really seen Chris Evans in a great role until this one. He's been perfectly serviceable as comic book characters, but he's brilliant in this one.
Heavy handed nonsense that got panned in most reviews..
You have shit tastes faggot
>>688720431
its called fantasy. why do some people insist movies make perfect sense with reality.. thats boring af

High Rise
Adaptation of the J. G. Ballard novel. The storytelling in the second half is quite elliptical, which will make it confusing to people that merely want to be entertained and don't want to put in any effort.
It also has some really choice lines, but you have to see it to know why:
> It's *my* paint.
> He's raping the wrong people.
the movie was enjoyable but deviated greatly from the source, the comic was better
>>688720533
>Heavy handed nonsense
It's an obvious allegory, and allegory is always somewhat heavy handed. But that's totally not the point here. The allegory is just the frame for what's really going on here.
>>688718070

A surprisingly very good movie that looks like a boring one at first, but then you'll find yourself amazed by it.
Watched Leon, liked Jean Reno, tracked down his other stuff, found this gem.
>>688723024
Agreed and the symbolisms were almost childish, like stuff a college student would think up.

I love this move. Who know that a G-rated movie for Disney would be one of David Lynch's better movies? It's too bad that it did not get more popular and enable Lynch to work more.

I don't think there was ever a movie poster for it, so have a trailer instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wvbBK9Nlsc
I dare anybody to watch all six hours. Amazing music throughout, very-very modern classical that does not suck in the least.
It's a film that lots of people on /b/ might have the capacity to appreciate, because most of the general public can't see past, say, two dead spirits covered in shit giving each other rimjobs as an expression of love. Not even joking; it's part of the act 2 finale with Maggie Gyllenhall singing an authentically moving aria. (Not even joking again)
I know it's recent but damn if it wasn't underrated
Best buddy movie since Bruges IMO
Incredibly well acted and they actually made me believe I was watching a movie from the 70s
>>688722883
Hmmmm is that a bond film haha?

Thanks for the answer. Docter Who ain't really my thing

That movie fucking sucked. I would have liked it if the boy Captin America was looking for was the steak he was eating at the end.
>>688721219
I love this movie
>>688723851
So many fucking plot holes.
I couldn't enjoy it cause by the end it was just a piece of convoluted garbage.

That movie was so absurd but it's also quite memorable. To this day I still think about certain scenes and the weirdness of it. Even though I liked Mulholland Dr. a little more this movie is definitely underrated. Good choice.
>>688724438
amen. I thought it was terrible. Dude who was once a girl is his own father and mother? Come the fuck on.
>>688718070
I thought the ending was really crappy though
(also Captcha made me select all images with trains, eh)
This
>>688718070
>>688725575
Actually this movie was interesting, has deep climate, there are many metaphors like a main character as an Odin etc. but it doesn't change the fact it's boring.
>>688722763
Excellent film.
>>688725575
Mein negger. Refn's favorite film.
>>688718070
fucking garbage, so disappointed, i have no idea how anyone liked this predictable shit story, chris evans was the best part though.

It's a little slow, but I guess I'm somewhat down for the ambiance and what not...bit of a depressing setting overall. But I still really liked it.

Have faith, brotha.
Movies around 1992 really work for me.
>>688727613
Honestly out of all his work this probably is the most underrated.
>>688727485
No, it's shit. Could have been good, but ruined by the Pantomime crap, the fact that they missed out and toned down nearly all the violence from the real life events, and the shitty Petshop boys soundtrack.
>>688725768
David Bowie was in that?
I liked it.
>>688727485
Plot tells about not special story about degenerate who doesn't know what to do with his life. Movie is for me 6/10, but Hardys role was masterpiece.
>>688727383
>being this simple minded
>>688726521
>never heard of this, will check out.
Just know that the story is based on actual events. It'll make the experience a lot more powerful.
btw it was nominated for best actor in a leading role but lost to Kevin Spacey (American Beauty).
>>688727485
Didn't like it much. I mean, directing and performances are cool but the story is meh and the main character is so completely unlikable that it puts you off.
>>688727892
He played Tesla.

Saw it yasterday and was a good break from seeing capeshit. Ironically the director of this movie made Iron Man 3.
