Are you talking about strictly losing weight? Or do you mean by exercising? Losing weight by just watching meals and calories will certainly help, as you'll feel better, but exercise is definitely the way to go (both for best results).

Drink less (or lighter) beers. Or better yet switch to wine and only drink enough for a buzz. Alcohol is way heavy in excess calories, and beer is a fuck ton of carbs.

Short answer, yes. Long answer, yes. Exercise and eat better. Walk to the grocery store and force yourself to carry your shit home.

ps. Hygiene is important to most people. Shower daily, wear deodorant, and brush your teeth at least once a day. Yellow listerine is best.
