I used to work in a kitchen cleaning dirty plates for 50 hours a week. It was a really shitty job but I worked there. All of the other workers were Spanish, Polish, Romanian etc. They had English people work before and they quit after 1 day, another one 2 days. Here's my own situation. I'm marrying a US citizen, we have a pile of visa's to apply for and will end up paying out nearly £10k by the time she has permanent leave to remain.
A colleague from the Netherlands married a US citizen, because their immigration laws are more relaxed (your spouse gets automatic leave to remain in the Netherlands) he was able to brig her into the UK and settle for no more than the cost of a flight.
