Hi /b/
Can someone please help me with a computer problem?
Real help please, no "funny" suggestions like delete system 32.
I'm not IT or anything but I'll try
The problem:
webm don't run smooth and pics load really slowly on /b/
live cams on chaturbate don't run smooth
internet connection is definitely fast enough --> no problems with other PCs in the house
delete system 32
Sure fam whatcha need
The system:
desktop PC with quadcore cpu @3.4 GHz and 8 GB ram
graphic card drivers up to date
had the prob with windows 7 already
now clean install of windows 10 on ssd --> still the same prob
What can I do to solve the prob? Thanks in advance!
>>688234547
What Browser are you using?
>>688234639
Same prob with firefox, chrome, edge...
It's not the browser causing the prob.
>>688234547
>Windows 10
>Joining the literal botnet
kek
While you said your graphics drivers are up to date, what about flash?
>>688234851
Huh. I had a similar problem with Ubuntu but updating flash seemed to fix it
>>688234876
latest version of flash player installed
same prob with versions of linux too
you obviously have been targeted by the NSA's Equation Group
what terrorist groups/foreign intel services are you associated with?
>>688234354
get some soap and water and give your computer a good clean inside and out. use a sponge it works better
open the case, clean all the dust from the CPU and video card fans
no kidding, this fixes 99% of solwdown problems, the CPU overheats when it's covered in dust and that fucks up the video display or in extreme cases causes thermal shutdown
>>688235135
>>688235157
"almost" made me laugh... nah
>>688235277
Don't fucking sponge it down lol
Just clean it out.
>>688235240
Already cleaned the inside of the PC... Didn't help.
The PC is quite fast in all other tasks, just the prob as described above.
Anyone know how to ddos/keylog/hack? lets make some $
>>688235008
You have direct x, c++ visual studio, etc. installed and up to date? I was missing a direct x component which caused most of my games to crash for awhile.
>>688235450
thats a completely different ball game brother. you really do have to delete your system 32 files to get involved in shady shit like that. s32 files leak too much of your personal information
>>688235450
>I'm 12 and pl0x teach me how to hax
Fuck off.
I'm stumped then dude.
Hopefully someone else can help you out
anyone know how to ddos/keglog/hack
>>688235769
tryna fuck up some commas, why you so salty faggot?
>>688235774
Dude seriously fuck off. We're trying to help this guy out here.
fucking faggot
disable add ons run spyware scan
>>688235543
directx installed and up to date
>>688235774
www.fbi.gov has a good set of tutorials
>>688235586
That was genuinely painful to watch.
>>688235886
not may add ons installed anyway, since fresh clean install
Big THANK YOU to everybody trying to help!
Any other ideas?
>>688235863
>salty
>over a wannabe skid
No. I just faggots such as yourself.
Do a clean boot and see if you still have problems if so try to uninstall flash with the flash removal tool and reinstall.
>>688236260
I already tried both.
>>688235900
Not sure then. I'd check your cpu's usage while trying to watch something. Maybe there's some program consuming most of it. Otherwise, I'm stumped, too. Sorry anon. There's usually a stupid questions thread over on /g/. Might be able to get some help.
Could it be a BIOS prob?
--> Still a version of 2012, but no updates available.
>>688236160
*hate, lol
>>688236042
Did you actually wipe the drive to just click the win10 update? Certain rootkits dont give a shit unless you format.
If your software is in check, its one of a few things. GPU fan is dead, heat-sink has dust clogging the slots.
Most likely, you just have someone mooching off your wifi. Change the password, if the problem persists, its a physical/hardware issue.
>>688236588
CPU usage is not even @ 20%
>defrag
>check for viruses
>hurrrrrrrrrdurrrr i no nothing about computre
>>688234934
I've been having thks problem on Ubuntu as well. I found it was because I didn't have graphics drivers enabled so I did that, but now it's running slow as ever. Will try this. Thank you, Anon.
>>688236748
Also, once you fix this issue you still have to get the malware you installed wiped. windows 10 is the literal definition of spyware.
>>688236756
Well shit. Like I said, I'd seriously try /g/. It's only slightly less active then /b/ in my opinion. So you won't have to wait hours to get a response like some of the other boards. Just be prepared to get tons of shit for your ignorance. Good luck.
>>688236748
clean install of win10 on a new ssd
fan working fine
no dust clugging anything
same prob even with nobody else on the wifi
other (worse) pcs in the same house work without probs
>>688237121
Thanks, might try that if /b/ can't help...
And yes, I would get tons of shit for my ignorance... lol
>>688237132
do you have another pooter to try to eliminate your bandwidth as the problem?
>>688237132
Alright, well it might still be software, but my bet is on a hardware failure. Try swapping a different gpu in (if you have a spare) and see if anything changes.
Have you tried turning it off and then back on?
>>688237499
No spare gpu...
>>688234354
Try this Op.
Log out of your browser, this should delete your cookies.
Restart.
Log back in.
Sometimes it's stupid shit like this that needs cleaned out.
>>688237786
Have you tried reading the first post?
Do you have the same problems if you download a webm and play it?
>>688237882
Done that too, of course, doesn't work.
>>688238096
Never tested that. I'll try.
>>688237910
Fuck off faggot.
burp.
>>688238096
>>688238193
Downloaded webm works fine.
>>688238399
>>688238480
>>688234354
tell me how this works:
1. go into chrome
2. type 'chrome://flags/' into the url and click enter
3. find (ctrl + f) 'Hardware-accelerated video decode'
4. disable it
note: enable it again if this all doesn't work
>>688238691
>>688238691
Tried that already... Didn't work.
>>688234547
Update your video card
>>688238816
>>688238983
>>688238983
I'm not sure I understand correctly.
Drivers of the graphic card already updated...
>>688239195
Again: MANY THANKS to everybody trying to help!
I appreciate it, you're awesome!
>>688238437
Did you run it in your browser or vlc?
If the browser then the problem is probably related to your connection speed.
>>688234510
>>688234354
if after going on /g/ or another board doesn't work, maybe try calling your isp? it seems like it could definitely be a problem from their end to yours.
>>688239668
In the browser.
Connection speed shoudn't be the prob.
Fast connection, and the other PCs in the house don't have this prob, only this one, and it's the PC with the best hardware in the house.
>>688239931
Def. not isp prob, because
>>688239966
>>688239931
>>688239966
might not be this then :/
>>688240128
yup read that as soon as i posted and was like "nevermind" lol
>>688240257
I wish it was that sinple. ;)
>>688240471
*m
I've tried everything I could think of...
My guess is it's a hardware prob, but I have no idea what the prob could be, since pics load fast on other sites, streams work well on other sites...
>>688239966
Any other differences between this pc and the others like the anti virus, os, or the way it connects to your modem? (wifi/ethernet cable)
>>688240834
Same AV, same OS, same WLAN, same WLAN stick...
Tried with cable connection too --> same prob
what all have you tried so far? it's a little confusing with how big this thread is
>>688241117
Won't lie I'm out of ideas other than general windows 10 speed up tips. Can't hurt to try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20XlwFb_XwA
cleaned inside of pc, no dust
clean installed OS on new ssd
tried with linux too
tried different browsers
updated graphic card drivers
newest version of flashplayer installed
cache and cookies cleared
internet connection is fast
and, and, and
It's the only PC of 3 in the house that has this prob...
try hosting the webage locally in a file (download a video and the page its in) and watch the video from your hard drive but still in the browser
>>688242435
Had the prob before already, with win7.
Same prob with different linux OS too.
>>688242765
Tried that, works fine.
so it has to be some issue with your network, most likely something not optimized properly causing your browser to not pull the video right
>>688243224
The other PCs on the same network don't have this prob, only this one, and it's the PC with the best hardware in the house.
>>688243617
but we've eliminated every other possiblity, it has to be network. how tech savvy are you on a scale from 1-10
>>688234473
What are the specs of the computer? Also, is Java installed/up to date?
>>688243780
How could it be the network, if all the other pcs don't have this prob? And I've tried with all three in the network at the same time, and with only one of them in the network.
Tech savy? Not the best, not the worst, maybe 5-6/10? I don't know...
>>688244056
desktop PC with quadcore cpu @3.4 GHz and 8 GB ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti, drivers updated
Java and flash installed and up to date.
>>688244152
is it plugged into your router via ethernet or is it on wifi
>>688244633
WLAN, but I tried with cable connection too.
Does your motherboard have an RGB connection and have you tried to connect a monitor to it, to rule out the video card?
>>688244437
Does it come with an onboard GPU? if so, plug your monitor into that and see if it still happens. If so, your NVIDIA might be dying
try cleaning the connection for the PCI slot your wireless card is in and the ethernet port, maybe one of those is gunked up
I've always used an HDMI connection to the NIVIDIA.
If I connect to the onboard GPU I guess I would have to change settings in the BIOS, correct?
But: If it was a prob with my NVIDIA, why would the prob of slow streams and webms and slow loading pics only appear on certain sites (e.g. 4chan) as mentioned in my second post?
>>688245258
Nothing gunked up...
Tried with cable, usb wlan stick and internal wlan modul.
>>688245768
Shouldn't have to change anything in your system, just plug it in and see
>>688246257
Will try this later, thanks.
But I don't understand how the nvidia graphic card could cause the prob if it works perfectly on other sites. No probs with loading pics or streaming whatsoever.
>>688246726
Chrome or firefox?
>>688245768
Won't lie at this point I'm just shooting in the dark, there aren't many problems that can go across windows and linux so it is either in the hardware, bios or the network and the video card is just the easiest to test. If all else fails try connecting to a friends network and see if you still have the same problem.
>>688247382
Same prob with chrome, firefox, opera, edge, scout...
>>688247460
BIOS is from 2012, but no newer versions available.
I'm pretty sure it's not an OS or connection/network prob.
I doubt it has something to do with the nvidia graphic card because it really works well in all other situations and on all other sites,
but I'll try connecting to the onboard gpu anyway. Little hope is better than none... ;)
Are the video drivers from Microsoft or Nvidia? I would experiment with both.
