Try and remain calm. At silver elo teams throw hard almost every game. The team with the lead before 10 mins is almost always the losing team anyway. Just focus on yourself, and help when you can. Throwing out a GJ! never hurts either.

My key to victory is that I simply don't rage... At all.
I'm at over 1000 normals and about 150 rankeds this season, never ragequit, somehow got a few reports for offensive language (honestly no idea why, I feel like the game always tells you to improve your language when you get reported, regardless of reasons).
Just stay calm, never surrender and believe in comebacks, even if it's 1/10 games where you have no inhibs and still win, it's till worth it.

I still won a game where we had not a single tower standing for the last 15 minutes, we won 3 teamfight before we could leave our base afterwards. Got a quick baron, won another fight in our base and finished afterwards. Calm those tits and play something easy with high impact (-->Braum)

A trick to improve roaming: play Bard.
He might feel difficult to play at first, but if you do the silver thing and spam your abilities (still find myself doing it in plat 2), you'll need to get some mana in (-> chimes for days). Especially in silver I found myself staying in lane for so long without recalling that I had over 3k Gold on first back.
You will basically find yourself standing in lane, sweating to find opportunities to leave your adc on their own (if you pushed up to the tower or if you can clearly see your adc does well enough to be left alone for 30 seconds).
Bard also has the quality of appearing on midlane at the speed of a fully charges Rammus if you have 5 chime boosts up your butt, go stun the mid laner, secure a kill like a true bard (flash your mastery 6/7 for the effect and fly off).
Bard is amazingly funny to play, especially when you win, but be sure to not use your ult too much in teamfights if you're not feeling comfortable with it, rather start fights by shutting down out of position enemies or catch those who run after a fight.
Bard might be more or less reserved for top tier, but his basics are top notch for learning basic stuff to improve when playing any support

You basically need a champion that you are confident that you can always pull yourself through with. Riven has some risky matchups for that matter, picking up a second main that happens to do well against all your counter could help here. Something I would recommend are champions that are always useful, Riven can be if you are good enough to at least potentially win any matchup with an equally skilled player, but her skillcealing makes it hard to get there. I suppose a reliable carry could be something like Gankplank or Maokai, who deal tons of damage (esp GP), don't die too quickly and are pretty much always viable. Practice is the key, the amount of practice needed does depend a shit ton on the champion though.
Poppy also works well. I main support but my secondary lane is top, so whenever I actually get top (1in 30 games) I go with Poppy (mained her for a month or so), Maokai and sometimes GP (Mao tends to get banned and I know who I fuck up against with Poppy)

If you get better and pull him off reliably, you could play him in ranked, not recommended if you're not too good with him.
I just personally love Bard, I got so many S+ on him in normals back in silver it's ridiculous, but your goal to achieve rn is to get mapawareness through something that forces you to roam.
