OP, going into that industry is fine, my experience has been that being more tattooed landed me more jobs in the creative industry, as it implies dedication to it. Also gets you work as alternative models really easily, which is a good way of getting extra money when you're starting out.

Media is unlikely to matter regarding tattoos, apart from major news network jobs being infront of the camera, anyone not in public view working for those companies would be okay, although "media" is kinda vague so I don't know what is meant specifically.

I think what would make it a bad decision is being unsure of what industry you wanted to get employed in; and in other cases, unless you're working for a cunt, you could cover yourself in tattoos after getting the job, assuming you have good work ethic.

I think them being a good/bad decision is gonna be entirely based on individual cases, it isn't fair to say it's always a bad decision, but likewise, it wouldn't be correct of me to say it's always fine, cause until a few years time when all the previous generation's CEOs retire, it will still matter to some employers.
