Hey OP, I recommend using a "bubbler" water pipe, water filtration cools down the smoke and it make the smoke a bit cleaner also. Still hold the smoke in your cheeks for a moment though, as it allows the smoke to cool a little more. Some people, including myself, like to puff their cheeks out with the smoke in them. This expands and condenses the smoke. Although I have no idea if that does anything substantial to the smoke's temperature. People usually do that before they do some sort of smoke trick.
