You don't have to be addicted to something to do it regularly. I smoke pot about once a day, typically after work in the evening before bed. I don't drink alcohol. I don't smoke cigarettes. I don't do other hardcore drugs although I have tried some higher level stuff once or twice. I've had to quit smoking for months at a time to pass drug tests (hair tests) or simply to save some money.

The first few days are admittedly not great. There can be a minor withdrawal for the first day usually associated with head-aches or irritability but it's never been a "Man I can't handle this" situation. I've never ever felt concerned about "relapsing". I had to pass a drug test and I quit for about three and a half months to clean my system. No problem.

Yeah people who say "I can quit I just don't want to" can definitely be addicts. But it also can be true. I can quit anytime. I've had to frequently. But I enjoy the activity. So I always do go back to it when I've got no good reason not to. Some times it's even fun to quit for a month or two and then smoke up real good because your tolerance drops. This year my wife and I went on a week long cruise. I quit smoking for a few months to save some $$$ and put that towards the cruise. There are tons of people who smoke frequently but not all the time, and are fully capable of quitting if it was harmful to their bodies, financial situation, or personal relationships.

You could probably stop masturbating if you really tried (maybe not) but would you want to?
