Someone living in my roof
>moved into a nice rental house 6 months ago
>occaisionally hear noises in the roof
>have a random thought that someone is living in my roof
>fast fwd to two weeks ago, find brick covered in paper and tape with a phone number on it in the garage where the manhole is in the roof
>think nothing of it, brother probably brought it in one day, dont ask him about it
>pet bird randomly dies when i was out

>brother asks me about the manhole not being flush with ceiling

Pic related, manhole cover that was flipped today. There was a period between 5pm-8:30 when we werent home and when someone could have come in. How would they know when we were out? The only way they could have is they are living in there.
