I have a mini ITX build similar to the picture with a GTX 970. Runs every game maxed out 60 fps 1080p no problem.

i5-4690k to 4.0ghz
16gb Ram
EVGA GTX 970
480gb SSD
2TB 7200 RPM HDD
700w Full power supply

Cool Master Elite 130 for the Case

Its small and powerful. Which is what most gamers are aiming for these days.

The new DanCase looks interesting. I almost bought one, but for $280, it's not worth it. I'd only be using it as a LAN pc. Which mine is small enough to do now, anyways.

Served me well for the last three years. In another year or two i'll upgrade again but right now I haven't found anything it couldn't handle. May have the case sandblasted and powder coated white to match my monitors.

Sorry for the poor photo. I'm not a photographer.

I've sold my desktop computer because I'm moving across the world for a new job. I'm not sure if I want to build a new desktop after moving or get a laptop that can handle light games (dota/indie games etc). I know gaming laptops are not worth the price but I want to be mobile if I have to move after a year. Should I just give up on gaming?

Btw I'm not a graphics fag (Play csgo on low settings for max fps) and don't care so much about the looks.

Favorite games: csgo, cities skylines, dota2, want to play fallout 4 but doubt laptops can handle it

You should think more about the "good fps in every game". It is not even close to an i7. Maybe at best a few year old i3.

I had two builds with them. With two full sized motherboards and 64 gigs of ram. Several dual gpus. The cpu was the bottleneck for gaming. About half the games I tested ran far worse than any benchmark even compared to an i3.

No issue with mine. I'm actually using DisplayPort to my monitor. Have you tried a different DisplayPort cable? I only play at 1920x1080 60Hz so I'm debating wheater to overclock or not, I've managed to overclock each component individually but once the 3 are together and overclocked I seem to get weird behavior like stuttering and freezing in game for less than 1 second or so that don't seem to happen at stock, weird thing is that all the stability and stress test I've tried have passed for more than 24 hours without problems even prime 95.

When I started building mine it was during a depression, a bad one. I left my gf after she consistently abused my affection and time. During this time period I lived in SD with room mates in a two story apartment. Roommates move back home with their respective families and I stay to get away from everyone and forget gf. I had no money to my name i was broke and could barely afford anything to my name. My job paid shit. One day I says fuck it.... I'll build a comp to be productive.

Why upgrade the CPU? Your GPU is a bigger bottleneck.

I'm going to buy a 1070 possibly, then a custom loop, then 1-2 1080Tis. Waiting for 4K fullfillment.

You're wasting so much money man.... just be happy with the stuff you have.

Closeup of the GPU. Got a Hydro AIO for cheap, it now runs 1300 Mhz gamestable. Also installed my other GT 530 to run Borderlands 2 with Physx.

It really helps, I get only drops to 50 FPS instead of 30 now. The effects look amazing for such an old game.

R9 270 2GB
A88x-G45 motherboard A8-6600k APU with Intel HD graphics 3.6 GHz
1TB Hard Drive
8GB RAM Crucial
Windows 7
Be Quiet 450w PSU

Going to upgrade soon but don't know what. Either way would have to get new PSU which means rewiring most of my computer. for GPU probably 380 4GB (might be better to wait for polaris for cheaper prices). Possibly SSD to put OS on and more RAM

No, my 780Ti can't handle newer games in my resolution anymore. The biggest problem is VRAM.

I downgraded from a Titan X when I heard ME:Andromeda wouldn't release 2016. The Ti is OK but struggles hard, games like Battleborn will drop to 30 FPS even when I set it to 640x480.

I agree with you. I just left the gtx in there to not be a AMD fan boy. But Nvidia has some shit business practices and fucks their older users. The people that bought the 970 over the r9 390 are starting to feel the hurt now with the release of the 1000 series

Listen, i'm looking for new game. I can show you how to make money from sex.

Most of my rig is from before I got a decent job, but I recently got a new CPU and components to go with it.

> i5-6600K
> Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5
> 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 2400MHz
> XFX R9 380 (looking to grab a 390X or Polaris equivalent soonish)
> Thermaltake Core V1
> PNY CS1111 240GB SSD + random 500GB Samsung HDD pulled from another dying machine

Handles most of the games I play (Rocket League, TF2, Cities: Skylines, and Factorio) maxed no problem, but GTA V stays at "high" settings.

>500gb hdd

Waiting for my hardware to slowly become obsolete so I can switch over to newer tech in the future. Maybe sell 980 and get a 1080
