Depends. Fluffies being capable of cruelty at all is a very new headcanon to the fluffy abuse fandom. Originally they were pathologically loving and friendly, and the appeal to us at the start was largely cute aggression and exploring a world that was purely devoid of justice.

A few years ago someone introduced fluffies back into /b/ by only posting smarty abuse. At the time, smarties were simply herd leaders and extremely rare. As more people began joining those threads and creating content, they got the idea that fluffies in general were largely cruel creatures, and that the point of abuse was about justification in hurting something evil, rather than evil flowing from humans to fluffies. They created ideas like 'worst baby', when before fluffies were only discriminated against colour-wise by humans who wanted them as pets. Over time this caused the fandom to somewhat split, and we now have people who follow the original 'fluffies are good' canon and newer members who prefer 'justified' abuse.

I personally prefer the older headcanon. As someone once said, if I wanted to see a bunch of sapient animals raping children and killing each other I'd move to Somalia. I prefer a world purely devoid of justice, rather than one that attempts, and ultimately fails, to find a justification. BUT, we're all free to like what we like so whatever floats your boat, you keep on keepin on.

I find this pretty interesting, I remember finding fluffies on this board long ago with the original "loving and friendly" fluffies. I can personally say that i enjoy this new canon a little better, I believe that the fluffies should be varied, some fairly ok and decent, others just terrible over entitle shit rats. The satisfaction is much greater when you know the fluffy truly deserves torture.

It like a good build up, a good comic should have a bad fluffy, maybe a mother starving a "poopie baby", which of course pisses the reader off because of its arrogance and cold heartedness. My problem with justified abuse is that 'justified' implies justice, and justice is a process of fairness, objectivity and standardized punishment and evaluation both meted out dispassionately. There's not proper justice in making a stupid, fundamentally evil creature and then giving yourself carte-blanche to evaluate its poor behavior by your own standards and devise cruel and unusual punishments for it in the heat of your fury that serve no purpose but cruelty. That's not justice and it's not justification - it's brutality, revenge and bold-faced corrupt justice.

Sure! We'll need a genetic template for a sapient brain to start off with. Humans are a good start, but no way fluffies would work with a literal human brain in them.
You do know which genes affect specific growths of the brain in humans right? You'll sure as heck need to! We need to target intelligence right off the bat. Then you'll be adding a ton of extra alleles for the built-in knowledge, otherwise they'll just be too retarded to learn how to speak. I started out trying to show why it would be hard to make fluffies and then got totally sidetrack gushing about what we'd need to think about to make the dream come true
unfortunately, awesome as throwing large amounts of money at shit is, the actual roadblocks are that
a) there are massive legal limitations on what sort of genetic fuckery you're allowed to commit and you need special permits just to do the legal shit or you get straight up SWAT'd - and that's nothing on what happens when you try to commit fuckery with anything that has the ability to be infectious or passed down to offspring
b) This is a sapient creature, and the only sapient brain examples we have are currently the most complex structures in the known universe. There's only so much money you can throw at that before you get diminishing returns. Science is slow, methodical and fucking boring as shit, and unfortunately we're not gonna speed that up much even if we get an Einstein equivalent of genetics and neuroscience.

Depends. Fluffies in canon were incomplete, released early by a terrorist group, leading to a number of the undesirable traits they have. In earlier canon it was things like poor bowel control and perhaps a little too much stupidity. Later canon seems to maintain that they were literally the exact opposite of what they were intended to be, a bunch of demanding, violent, bigoted rapists, so if you're into that and the peculiar lab conditions it suggest then..

Here's a colour heirarchy, which is either relevant to humans or both humans and fluffies in terms of values depending on which headcanon you prefer.
Colour patterns are often based around in-canon neckbeards desiring My Little Pony colour combos and so they are typically valued more.
