I live in Tucson. At the DEANZA drive in theater, to the far right of screen 3, there was always this ominous flood lamp from someone's home over the fence of the lot. When I was a kid, we would drive in and the lamp would be facing toward us, but slightly angled to the bottom left, I would look at it every once in a while, to make sure it didn't move, but eventually, on one of the glances during the duration of the movie, the dim lamp would gawk directly at our car. I would freeze and stare at the lamp for a minute or two, and then turn back to the movie, Every few minutes I would take a quick glance at the lamp to check if it had rolled back to where it was, which it always eventually did. The thing I feared the most about this lamp, was catching it in the act, the exact moment it turned its neck toward us, because at that moment, it would know that I know.
