I think the idea of a movement for it is kind of dumb. Why make an announcement that you're done playing the game? Just quit.

I get it, though. The system is stacked against the traditional man, so why be a traditional man? My ex-wife took me for a ride, and it happens to a lot of guys. Now that I'm old enough to be past the strong passions of youth I just don't see the appeal of risking everything that I've built for myself after recovering from my marriage. When I think about another serious relationship it always boils down to "what do I get out of it? what do I risk in the process?" and it always falls in favor of never progressing past casual sex and shallow friendship.

It's not like I can't get laid, and it's not like I haven't been laid in many ways by my fair share of women. That's part of the point, as far as I'm concerned. I've had enough sex to know that it's nothing mysterious or special, even if it's something that I would like to have. I've had enough sex not to feel threatened by someone pointing out that I'm not currently in a relationship where I have access to it. I just don't care enough about it anymore to bother.

But you're not going to catch me announcing to Facebook that I'm now a MGTOW or whatever. I don't need a label or the excuses it implies to do what I want and live how I want. It's just a matter of self-defensive risk/reward assessment in a cultural environment that no longer supports the cultural norms that I was raised to believe in.
