Lol, because dota 2 is so much more elite than a League. If you ask me, Dota is worse than LoL. Every time I play it I can only suffer for an hour at the most. Felt like a dumbed down, pseudo-difficult, overly complicated version of LoL. Besides the characters are pretty bland and forgettable. Literally the only things that LoL has over DotA is bullshit designed to help you when you fuck up (see: summoner spells, runes, masteries, bushes), and what you name to be "overly complicated" is in fact a number of mechanics that add depth to the game, and punish you for your mistakes, instead of help you fix them (see: denying, losing gold when you die, no recall).

As well as that, absolutely nothing can be purchased that will affect your gameplay in any way, and as such everyone is on level ground. Having removed useless shit like masteries and runes, and having all heroes free, the only thing that is left is individual skill and the capacity to play as a team, instead of relying on stupid mechanics.
