Anyone else remember these toys? They were called Soldier Force and they were my favorite. About 4-5 inches tall. These ones are green but a lot of sets were black. I haven't been able to find much info on these, I've seen them scattered about random dollar stores under different names over the years but thats about it.

I feel the reason 90's kids nostalgia so hard is because shit didn't seem to change as fast until the late 90's. People were content with what they had and new technology took a while to come out before then. There was basically a few major developments per decade until that point. Suddenly, within a few years everything blew up. Within our adolescence we quickly went from landlines to cell phones we could do everything on. Home Movie stores blew up. .No internet or it was dial up, to everyone using it as a life source. A new video game console every 2 years. Stuff like that. All of that stuff was completely unprecedented and it sort of spoiled us in a weird way. Also, that rapid technological advancement made the things we remember so fondly seem a lot older than they really were. Then, shit got real and we realized we weren't living in a perfect, carefree world anymore. Everything happened so quickly that we were just kind if blindsided and left wanting to go back to a time when things just seemed simpler and safe.

you cash out but you don't want the fun to end. in the very back of the nickel nickel all the way at the end. it's super dark and you see these old dusty neglected games. you sit down and there's no one around. you go to try a game, maybe look for some nickels. "wait a second, did someone put money in and not play their round. well shit it's my lucky day" but then you keep playing more and more free rounds. you realize all the games back here are free. you never have to leave.
