The show is awesome and just because you guys don't like it doesn't mean its a bad show. Literally millions watch it every Sunday. And millions more stream it. It probably has an audience of 17/18 Million in total.

If you have never watched the show, or if you only watched the first couple of episodes you really can't have any input. id you have watched more than a couple of episodes like a few seasons or something then fair enough. But that's pretty rare.

The show is so unique from anything else in the basis that there is no real main character, everyone is the main character. And no one is truly good or bad. There are people that are neutral and ones that are evil. It's also intense because you favorite character for 6 seasons in a row could just die 3 episodes in half way through the episode and that's what's great about it.

Not to mention the amount of storylines and a timeline that stretches back 10,000 years with various story arch's and tons of lore.

That being said it's just a medieval soap opera with shitty actors and 21st century references and dialog which makes it suck to me.

In my opinion is the show that depicts "Human Nature" at it best.
Because, you can see how the Alphas see the rest. What they do to them. How they think. What they plan.
And yes, in the last season they have gone all Hollywood. With explosions Micheal Bay Style. But in the core, what can be saved from books, is what matters. It's samples common human Psyche to the extreme.

The books Are far better than the show, the show started out ok but just like every adaptation they make, they allow the directors and writers to just do whatever they fucking want, and it turns to shit, comparatively. i watch this show. the tits got me interested, the storyline got me to stay but in all honesty, it's gotten a little bit mundane. its the same variation of people wanting power just using different faces.

i keep thinking of the peasants though. it doesn't matter who the leader is, they're still toiling on the same land, the same shit. they're just paying a shit ton of taxes to whichever king or queen has taken over their lands. of course, milord/milady, i'm loyal to you.

it's hard not to think of myself as a peasant, especially in light of this current election. it really doesn't matter who will win the presidency (the iron throne). i'm still going to get fucked. its just who is going to fuck my ass -- my hippy nextdoor neighbor, a con artist, or my grandma.

No they stuck along quite well to the books then the writers decided to make dumb fucking decisions with characters, decided "hey, fuck the stories that happen in the books, let's just do whatever we want and make up our own version." fuck you, and everyone that thinks the show is better, they replaced parts of the plot that had actual meaning with sensationalist bullshit, meant only to shock people and get better ratings. The show is leagues worse than the books, most people would just rather be spoonfed mediocrity than taking the time and energy to absorb the story as it's meant to be.

No, the show hasn't been following the novels acceptably since the second season. The last few seasons have just been D and D making shit up as they go, doing whatever they please. The books are far far better, I suggest reading them. GRRM needs to hurry up and quit being such a slow fatass, and finish the last books.
