I was born into Christianity, and when I got old enough to start re evaluating my beliefs I found that the bible was obviously stories with morals, but people take them as fact, and there isn't any much evidence for a god otherwise. No one can know for sure what happened before the Big Bang or if there's an afterlife, so there is a theoretical possibility, but it's not enough to devote my life to something I have no evidence for. People shouldn't need the threat of burning for eternity to be a good person. If there is a benevolent God then he would understand my doubts. If God would send a good person to hell for having doubts then he doesn't deserve to be worshiped anyways in my book.

Lack of religious influence in my formative years. Youth group kids seemed like pod people to me growing up. My parents never went to church, basically raising me to think about the consequences of my actions and think about how my decisions impact other people as the foundation of my morality. I went to church and a couple of youth group meetings and was deeply unsettled by the mixture of boredom and low-level anxiety. It was bible study, rote learning with no deeper analysis or questioning. I asked questions the youth pastor couldn't answer, "if god made everything, who made god?", "what about the fossil record?", "the bible says the sun was made after the earth and the universe is only a few thousand years old, but light takes longer than that just to escape the sun's gravitational pull, how does that work?". If the bible is the word and the truth, why do so many variants of the text exist? Why are there so many splinter faiths? Doesn't that turn religion into a big roulette wheel with thousands of wrong answers? You say you want to save my soul, but so do the catholics, the jo hos, the baptists... The list goes on. Which one is right? What if they're all wrong and it's all a smoke screen to distract us from the one true faith? At least science is consistant, and is willing to admit when it's wrong and changes as new evidence shows up. It doesn't deal with absolute certainty and "truth" is subject to criticism, testing, and requires that concensus and duplicate study to verify it.

Only thing I can contribute to this cesspool is the only useful religious thing I learned at my catholic high school. As the professor described it, the more modern interpretations of the bible, especially the new testament as well as most of the old, are ment to be metaphoric or symbolic.
And I don't belive that the kikes who wrote this around the same time they were Egypts (who were pretty advanced dindu's) field niggers, actually belived the seven day bullshit, it was just a convince to explain why they do whatever likes do throughout the week.

Also, another reason I'm agnostic is that if you look at all the world's religions, pagen or abrahamic. They all have the same themes, so there must have been something that each civilization, or humanity in general experienced that bringd up these paragons of deities.

Nothing made me into an atheist, I was born as one, like every single person on the planet. Religion is nothing you are born into, it's something that is taught to kids who don't know any better.

The main reason is that I wasn't indoctrinated in to a religion from a young age. I went to church and stuff sometimes, on some Christmases and Easters. But it was more to humour religious relatives. Thankfully, my parents never forced any nonsense on me.

Apart from that, I'm a reasonably well educated person of average intelligence, and I've never been particularly susceptible to group think or peer pressure. Religion is a topic that interests me, so over the years I've read up quite a bit about it in its various forms. The more you know in that regard, the less likely you are to be enticed by religion, especially if you're not from a religious background.

So, yeah, that's why I'm a fedora, m'faggots.
