High silica content would give it a lighter and clearer color. Something like quartzite is high in silica content, and if you look at a picture of it, you'll see what I mean. No, it's called a scanning electron microscope.

We had to start using those when we wanted to see things that were smaller than regular microscopes would allow, because photons are simply too big. Electrons, being much smaller, allow for much finer details. It gets the "scanning" in the name from the way that it's used to "scan" an object with electrons, and then measures the resultant secondary electrons as they return back to the sensor.

Why don't you dip-shits take a 5th grade science class. Don't you remember how to identify rocks? Color? Does it have a luster? Test its hardness with a brass rod, then a steel one. Is it magnetic? Is it reactive to a 5% hydrochloride acid solution. Test its specific gravity. Weight per volume? How does it react to heat?
