2 MB, 2336x4160
Op here, some back story.

It might seem a bit off, but the pickup placement isnt random, it's calculated according to the standing wave frequencies for the different strings. It has a roller bridge as well to allow for minute adjustments.

The shape has also been designed with weight distribution in mind, it is extremely well balanced as a result.

It's made from 3 pieces of Finnish Alder, and the neck is maple. The resonating frequencies are harmonic.

It has a telecaster scale length and neck, it has a gibson tailpiece and tune o matic bridge because I dislike tremolo's, can't be bothered to tune it every day.

So it has been engineered to be well balanced and sound good. The pickguard is inspired by the musicman bass pickguards.

>>685352908
No, it's actually quite comfortable sitting down.

Just like any other V usually when you play it sitting you lock it around your leg inside the V, But if you want to hold it resting on your leg on one of the wings the "points" are actually quite rounded and so close together you don't feel them at all. If anything this is actually easier to play in that position than a regular V because it doesn't slide off your leg like one that smooth would. The lines when you look past the small gaps are actually very flat and straight.

Yes i have, it is in fact 25'5 inch in scale length. It's just that the pickups are placed a bit kdd because it is a three way pickup setup in a 25,5 inch scale length. This was the best solution theoretically so I went for it.

Bought this a couple months ago, saw it on Craigslist. Early 70's Yamaha FG 180 red label. The very same model and vintage used by Elliott Smith. I was actually looking one of these and found it while working on the road. Plays and sounds better than my Taylor which was surprising to me.

>>685357305
Dude, I know it seems like a lot... But it was worth it, the tone is insane. Grunt, tightness and clarity. The string separation is amazing, and they have enough chug and growl for death metal, which is my main genre.

It's graphite reinforced if that's what you're thinking about, it feels solid as a rock, but that's what I'd expect from a neck through.
>>
>>685357736
Not when it's properly set up. With fresh strings it's almost as if the bridge balances out slight detune issue. I'm a very heavy picker.

Depends on what I'm doing. Every recording day, about once or twice a month if I'm just rehearsing/playing and I'm not super busy.
I usually notice because the tension in D'addarios is affected after a while and my bridge 'stands' compared to the intended "flush with the body", when in correct tuning. This causes intonation issues, but by that time the strings sound dull and shitty anyways.

Always liked the look of those. If I could find a left handed model of that I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
>>
>>685360066
It's pretty sweet on cleans but a complete disaster on heavily distorted tones. Luckily, I don't really see the point in using it on distorted death metal rhythm anyway.
>>
>>685359072
yeah thats what I was thinking id mainly add it for asthetic resons but thats kinda lame reason and I don't want to ruin an all original guitar

>>
>>685361061

Why does left handed people play left handed guitars?

It's not a pun, I'm left handed myself and play as a right handed.

I find it way easier to play the notes with the left one, just using my right hand (with less agility) to strike the strings.

>>685361446
Don't worry, mine is like a tier below.
>>
>>685361393
I've never heard of a right handed guitarist playing a lefty, but I guess it's just a matter of preference in reality. As a skateboarder, what people decide to ride (regular/goofy; left foot/right foot front) is pretty much random and just a matter of preference.
>>
>>685361446

I've an epiphone too, some model are pretty cool.
Anyway, it's not the guitar which matter but what you do with them.

I've seen people with amazing instruments, barely using them (and sounding as shit with them) and other with "basic" one, sounding awesome.

The musician himself play a great role, more than the instrument itself.

Just have fun, it's all what matter!

She's beautiful anon!
How's the tone? Is the back rounded like typical modern ovations?
>>
>>685361822

Sure, but the same guitar in left handed is more expensive than right handed.

Also, there are more choices on right hand than left (mostly why right handed don't play left handed guitars).

As you say, I assume it comes with how you learned to play, hard to re-learn everything the opposite way.
>>
>>685361393
I've tried playing right handed, but I never could get the hang of it. It just felt so weird to me and I couldn't get my two hands to work together.

You bet, she's round and really comfortable to hold. The tone is fantastic too, it might just be me, but I feel like its gotten a nice warm tone because of its age compared to a newer Ovation model.

My cheap piece of junk precision bass clone from ebay. It's low quality and cheaply made, but for some reason I love it and prefer it, even though I have a better quality bass guitars available.

One unusual thing about it is that the scale length is 31", rather than 34" long scale or 30" short scale. Maybe this is part of why I like it so much.
