what are symptoms if the liver is damaged / destroyed by for example drinking too much ?
>>
Death, also Google search, faggot
>>
>>685297606
Bumping for interest. I drink way way too much (like 1.5-2 liters of Vodka in a session) and I want to know that too.

Why do you ask OP?
>>
just google liver failure fucking fag

>>
>>685297606
It's common for severe alcoholics to develop hyperglycemia. The liver becomes so damaged that it stops producing insulin.
>>
>>685297713
cuz im tired and dizzy like fuck all the time and i wonder if it has something to do with the fact i drink 2 liters of booze once a week
>>
>>685297606
>what's google?
>>
>>685297898
>hyperglycemia
Which leads to diabetes right?
>>
>>685297931
It may well be the booze, I do exactly the same and feel damaged for the entire week. Then I do it again.

But it doesn't necessarily mean it's the liver (yet). Hangovers with that much alcohol last multiple days to a week

Cirrhosis is the condition ou might want to read about.

I'm actually amazed that I never had that on alcohol. On amphetamines tho..
>>
Had someone drink a slab everyday for 40 years. She would drink 2L of water if morning and get the shakes. Then she would need a stubby to help her get thru, if she didn't her liver would collapse. Soon enuf, she didn't have a beer in he morning and died.
>>
>>685297898
It¨s the pancreas that produce insulin idiot
>>
>>685298519
any better idea ? its pointless to check symptoms of anything on wikipedia and shit , youll end up with a list from nothing to everything

>>
>>685298568
Moron, your brain is way more important than your liver.

Well, actually if that is what you think then your brain probably isn't that important.
>>
sup op my liver is a little fucked aswell
guess thats what happens when you drink every weekend for several months
i sometimes take a 1-3 week break so the damage can be healed a little but idk if its serious enough to go to a doctor
since i've only felt liver discomfort maybe once or twice in my life
>>
>>685298660
It's true faggot:

"Even in well-nourished people, alcohol can disturb blood sugar levels. Acute alcohol consumption, especially in combination with sugar, augments insulin secretion and causes temporary hypoglycemia (9). In addition, studies in healthy subjects (10) and insulin-dependent diabetics (3) have shown that acute alcohol consumption can impair the hormonal response to hypoglycemia."

many people dont have brains or never use them and theyre fine
>>
>>685297606
It takes a long time for liver failure OP, im sure youre fine. Ive been drinking for 10 years, heavily for 6 years. I was at the doctors the other day and everythings perfectly fine with me.
>>
>>685297898
>>685299079
Hyper and hypo two different things.
>>
>>685299079
Where does it says exactly that the liver produces insulin?
>>
>>685299369
Unless they didn't do your bloodwork, I doubt that.
>>
>>685299079
Yes alcoholism does damage the pancreas and leads to poorly regulated blood sugar levels.

It's common for cirrhosis of the liver to be accompanied by pancreatitis.

Just look up what the liver and the panaceas do. The livers job is blood filtration and the pancreas is part of the endocrine system.

>>685299335
That is true, you can't live without your liver, but you can get a transplant (although there are restrictions on the USA organ donor listings for addicts) Your brain is you, you can't get another one. But I'm sure you'd be perfectly fine if some bonehack took your brain out and threw it away.

Hay OP, 20 y/o with now high liver function.

Sometimes you get itching all over, and feel as if you have an itch on the inside of your abdominal cavity. jaundice, pull down your lower eyelids and see if its gettin yellow in thar, on the whites of the eyes.
Sometimes you can feel a minor ache where yer liver is located, right up under the ribcage on the right side.
If you press at an upward angle on the right side under the ribcage and it hurts, that's also an indicator.

Go get a blood panel done if you're concerned, dipshit.

Godspeed, don't fuck up your liver any more.

Unless you want to of course.
>>
>>685299335
I have bad news...your brain is already severely damaged
>>
>>685299079
Alcohol might hinder the effectiveness of insulin but it's still produced in the PANCREAS.
>>
>>685299576
Blood work, urine test, cat scan and ultrasound. Nothing was wrong with me so i assume i hurt my back somehow. Pains getting better.
>>
>>685299761
thats why i hope its not the liver hahahah

>>685299703
what about dizzyness and being tired ? its rather something else ?
>>
>>685299959
It doesn't hinder its effectiveness, it hinders the amount produced. The protein itself still has the same capability.

>>685300174
Holy shit, just Google the symptoms of cirrhosis.

well thats just the thing. the liver is the most regenerative body organ in the human body. unfortunately it does this to well and when its ready to give up its usually to late. you need blood tests , preferably fasting lipids. pain can sometimes be a symptom but again ive nurse someone with end stage liver failure and he was saying that he was getting a random test done. there were no symptoms till 1 month after the blood test. thinks went down hill fast after that.
>>
>>685299588
The liver metabolise dangerous substances (alcohol, toxins) and produce vital proteins such as clotting factors.. the kidneys filter the blood removing the slagg products of this metabolism

They could be the side effects of many things, including liver damage.
But since you're still drinking, who knows.

All I can say is go get a blood panel done if you're not sure.

TRUST ME, you'll feel a LOT better knowing for sure than not. I learned that the hard way.

So, go get a blood panel.
>>
>>685300241
when you "google" any sickness it lists you 10 quardrillion of symptoms
>>
>>685300491
Yes, the liver filters blood. It filters blood by metabolizing toxins in the blood. It's true that the liver also contributes to the production of clotting factors; organs tend to have multiple purposes.

Just because the kidneys also filter blood doesn't mean the liver cannot contribute to the process.

They often do. Also lots of fatfucks (maybe not the americunts) know exactly how metabolism works and how to eat healthy and everything. They just don't do it.

Exactly. they are lucky as they are stupid.
I'm not saying not to drink at all, but the kind of consuption OP is talking about is crazy retarded, like smoking and weighting 200 kilos. Some of those fatties and smokers live a long life, but many, many, many more don't.

I am wondering something like this too, i have gut problems for a long time now, basically diarrhea or constipation, often bloat, heavy feeling, weird small fragmented shits. My doc did bloodwork and the thing they do to pregnant women forgot it's name in english, basically he told me it was probably nothing too serious but he also told me my liver is a bit enlarged and he told me only to drink a glass of wine, right now i drink a few beers each night, 2-3 beers at about 5% alcohol or 1-2 glasses of wine, however i used to be really light weight and i was getting drunk from like 2 beers.

Also i used to do lots of drugs in my youth too so idk, my bloodwork is good though but my gut still feels like shit almost every day and i feel constantly tired and shit.

Not a full on alcoholic but this is 3rd week without touching it. Never thought I could do without it tbh felt I needed it for the buzz, needed it to get through work or when I needed confidence and needed it to sleep.
Felt so much better lately, no shakes no sleepless nights now and no more palpitations. Also back into getting in shape all good. Still fancy a drink every now and then tho.

More like snorting them. But all the good stuff is toxic to the body as well. At least it's not as bad as alcohol, which is a really shitty drug.

Yeah I know that, have done way too much coke in my life. I did the worst thing and accompanied the coke with lots of alcohol, which you really shouldn't do at all.

I was talking more about amphetamine, psychedelics and MDMA. Although amphetamine isn't without long term physical & psychic damage either. There's no drugs without serious long term effects probably. Can't smoke week because I get anxious as fuck on it nowadays.

Bummer.
