If you could have any car in existence, ever made, what would it be? Doesn't matter when it was made, as long as it has wheels
pic related, it's a lancia delta s4, a rally car
>>685226393
an endless supply of Alpha Romeo GTA's, so I could blow out the engines on them one by one.
The delta is pretty decent. Not sure how I feel about the gen 3
>>685227253
I don't know anything about the modern ones
I didn't know they even made them after group b ended
>>685226393
A Group B rally car?
I like you OP, I like you.
I think I would take a McLaren MP4/4
A Dacia Sondero!
>>685228146
just did some reading, looks like just a branding thing, like the asian SAAB's.
Shame, I'd thought Fiat finally told chrysler to fuck off.
>>685228629
hell yeah, group B is the shit
really any racing before regulations and safety and all that is awesome to watch
like 60s nascar. They go 200 mph and had asbestos floor mats
group B rally - 550 HP in cars that weigh under 2000 pounds
they just don't have that kind of excitement anymore
>>685229253
fans killed it
>>685229253
people are too stupid for their own good
If they had better crowd control in group B maybe it could have stayed. I can only imagine the monsters we would have today if it had
Hate all you want, I'd take this though.
>>685230089
The spectators helped kill group B, but the drivers do what they always do, push things to the limit, whatever it takes for every 10th of a second, and then they drive off a mountain at 200mph and die in a fireball.
This is why all motorsports have been regulated to hell, especially F1. Bright side, it looks like F1 is going to ease off on some of the regs.
>unrelated
Pirelli has had a nightmare in PR because they built tyres exactly to reg specs, performing exactly like the commission or w/e wanted, but ppl blame pirelli and call them incompetent and their normal tyre sales go down.
>>685230824
Type R's are rare, and highly desireable among car fanatics.
There's a group I almost fell into that was obsessed with the carlos sainz GT4 Celica, and nobody likes toyota.
>>685230824
that would be a nice ride
I'm surprised nobody has put good 'ol Godzilla in here yet
>>685231449
old skyline is a niche crowd
>>685231449
holy shit
how high do you have to rev to spool up the turbo on that thing
they used this baby to haul ass on Nascar tracks in the 60s
no airbags, no safety features
nothing but a floor mat made of asbestos
the good ol days
not saying I would have sex with a car, but if I did.....this would be it
I've wanted an SLR since I saw that old fuck Clarkson try one out.
The new Alfa Guilia with the ferrari engine looks tasty.
>>685229253
There needs to be more pictures of the quattro in this thread.

2001 Dodge Viper GTS-R type

>mfw the Supra TT only increases in rarity and price every year.
A DeSoto Fireflite would have to be a top choice

>>685226393
Nice, but I don't want all the rally adv decals on it for driving around.
>>685238406
that's a nice looking muscle car
never even heard of it until now
I'm a simple man. So poor I can't even afford one of these, but someday.
0-60 in 45 minutes and sexy as fuck
>>685240389
it just doesn't look the same without the rear air scoops

Worked in an Audi dealership for 10 years in the svc dept. in a very rich neighborhood and never saw a single one of those fuckers. Always wanted one to come in.
>>685241834
rich people who buy Audis always want something boring. The only people who want that sexy ass quattro never have the money to buy it

samefag here, yeah. Man, 99% of Audi owners aren't car people at all and were just pretentious douchebags and wanted to be "different" than their friends that had BMWs and Mercedes. Most owned the 1.8t which is the fucking worst engine in those things, fucking slow as shit and problematic. I always wanted to say "Oh, you couldn't afford the real Audi?" If you're buying an Audi it should at least be the A6, the 2.0t is alot better, but it's still a 4cyl.
>>685242434
Meant to say V6 not A6.
>>685242407
I have never seen that car before but It looks like a smooth ass ride
>>685240404
They're underappreciated, but one of my favourite muscle cars
>>685242434
exactly, audis went from group B supercars to cars for rich pretentious douchebags
these people who buy audis probably don't even know how to check their oil. Such a shame
French engineered with an Italian motor in it. What could possibly go wrong? Not sure if they had Lucas Electrical parts in them, if so, it would be the most dependable car on the planet.
>>685242635
It's possibly the most amazing volvo in history. Search up the normal p1800 too amazing car
>>685242902
that thing looks like it's from a science fiction movie
what is it?
I would never want to own a groub b rally car tho. When are you even going to use it? at some oldtimers hill climb once a year at snails pace to not damage your museum piece
I'd much rather have a factory new rally car and actually have some fun
>>685242712

>>685229253
>group B rally - 550 HP in cars that weigh under 2000 pounds
Not familiar with B. Did they have the All Wheel Drive like Group A?
>>685243021
I would without a doubt take a group B rally car for some fun in the hills or on a track. They're made to take those extreme conditions, and it's not like they're antiquated relics. Most group b cars could still be repaired. Plus they get almost twice the power of a modern rally car and weigh a shitton less, so you would just be flying everywhere. I don't like group B cars because they look nice, I like them because they haul ass off road
>>685238406
There is a guy who loves around me who owns one of these, he has it in like a baby blue. Its stunning and he always cruises and goes the the local Wednesday car shows.
>>685243556
I intend on doing that one day, since they're so cheap, available, and awesome.
Ford actually made a small number of SVT models for some driving school or something that had the powerplant and six-speed stick out of a Cobra, I'd want to make something like that
>>685243772
No, I think there were a rear wheel drive one. I might be completely wrong.
Wish I still had mine. They are rare as fuck all these days.
>>685243556
they're not really sleepers though, everyone thinks they're cops or old cop cars with beefed up engines
>>685243772
group B were almost all 4 wheel drive cars. There were no limitations so manufacturers made some of the craziest cars ever made while it was legal from 1982 to 1986
>>685243895
I've got a 1j in storage, thinking about putting garrets on it and then get a crown vic. Living in sweden so I'd have to import one, shouldn't be too expensive
>>685237269
D Type, that's the way to go.
ANY car you say?
>>685244408
Yeah luckily since I'm in Canada, at any given time I can find like 2-5 pages of Crown Vic police cars in classifieds for <$5,000
Though the vast majority of course are retired patrol cars: something like an unmarked detective car would be a better bet when they come up
first gen Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
>>685244404
as an example the delta s4 weighed 1900 pounds with a full tank of gas and had over 550 horsepower in 86, and surely had over 500 ft pounds of torque
>>685244582
Can't drive it on the road. And a personal track isn't included so I mean if you want a track car that you need to buy a trailer for it and then pay fees for going on track days. Your choice I guess.
RS4 Avant. My favorite sleeper.

>Lamborghini Countach
>Lotus Esprit
>Volkswagen Scirocco
When I was a kid, I didn't know about performance or price. And I honestly couldn't tell the difference between these 3 cars. I loved them all the same.
They were all old cars. I loved their hard edges and it's something I wish would come back into car design.

>>685247500
I know exactly what you mean. cars these days look like bubbles. They have no shape to them, it's just a bunch of curves and rounded edges. They just don't look badass like old cars did
Surprised no one's posted this sooner.
>>685244838
fuck yeah. I've been thinking about an 06 E55AMG Wagon (literally pic related) - the Audis are too hard to find.

The DeLorean too. Those edges.
It might even be why I loved that car design. Back To The future programmed me.
