Things deemed as "obscene" could be things that people all around would say is wrong, and could go to things such as what we have in this thread -Drawn images of children in sexual situations. Some people in power would say that this is "obscene", while some others would say it is an expression of free speech. Pornography could be deemed as "obscene", but isn't because it's been decided that it is an expression of free speech. In japan, I don't know their "free speech" rights, but as for the censoring of genitals, it would be the same as a court justice deciding that it is too obscene to be allowed.

I personally hate the exception of free speech that is obscenity. It's just way too obscure and the opinion of what is obscene varies widely. Of course things like child pornography should be outlawed because it's clearly abuse of a child, but outlawing it because it falls under being "obscene", and not just outright morally wrong is absurd to me. As for SJWs, they will kill off free speech if we let them, but for things like pedophilia I am pretty sure they are trying to make it something that is accepted. I believe it should be accepted, but only as long as the people who are accepted in society as "pedophiles" are non-offenders.

I do believe that some of it is a bit harsh. To me, the real monsters are the people who created the child pornography. I don't think real cp in itself should be made legal, because of the abuse of children to make it, but when it comes to things like lolicon or shotacon, which are just drawings that doesn't harm anyone or anything by itself, should be just fine.
