Depends what you're going for. A small vape pen (or e-cig) won't produce much vapor and usually has a tank, doesn't allow for much smoke and flavor, but you can start at around 24nic. If you grab a mod (the boxes or big ecigs that you see people produce a ton of vapor with) then you probably want to go with a lower nic, I wouldn't recommend above 12nic.

That is an RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer). It has no tank, but it has a coil with the cotton usually on or through it. You just drip the juice directly from the bottle onto it and the cotton soaks it up. Then you cap it and when you fire the vape up, the coil heats up and produces vapor. There are other kinds that also have coils and cotton but inside a tank that you refill instead of dripping into. If you want more details, lemme know

Yeah. That makes it easy to change flavors if you want. It's really not as annoying as it sounds. They make easy drip bottles with caps or bottles with droppers. Only thing is it is not fun to use while driving. So I keep a tank for driving since you don't have to refill as often and I keep a dripper for walking around.

As an outsider looking in, I feel as though vaping has gone from a legitimate way to try and ween yourself off of cigarettes (barring the apparent failure of the "patch"), to a complete and total substitute for cigarette smoking (the thing that it was normally meant to stop). Why? I am genuinely curious. It's not as if it makes you look cooler or anything, because it seriously doesn't. Sure, some may say that vaping is better for you, or rather, less toxic and obtrusive, but this ends up being negated because people end up vaping WAY more than just smoking normally (probably due to the fact that vaping is less bothersome to people, and way more accepted as socially okay in certain spaces).

I am truly curious, in the hopes that one of you could remedy this situation for me and allow me to understand it better. No matter what though, you're all still weak faggots for smoking in the first place. Get a hold over yourselves.
