Getting a stick was, from what I can tell, the best decision I've made in my life.

If someone else needs to drive my car, I'm fucked. And if there's traffic it does suck. But overall I'd say I enjoy driving so much more with a manual than I would in an automatic. Shifting right when you want to as apposed to when the engine decides to are two completely different things.

Funny thing is after all the years of going up into country roads I find most accidents I see up there are from normal people and not from people speeding , yeah some people on bikes and in cars crash from speeding but only the idiots and that's not many.

Mostly it's people in 4WD's or Camrys that struggle to sit in one lane even at normal speeds and then they claim experience. I still take caution speeding through twistes though. I'd be dead otherwise , keep serious stuff for the track no late braking or anything in the twisties just throw it in through corners and brake early and in one lane ofcourse.

You're missing the whole point of why shifting becomes more intuitive. When you accelerate in a manual, depending on how fast/far you depress it, the car's computers determine when to change gears. When you drive a manual, you decide the exact moment you want to change gears. So if I wanna redline every single start, I can. But someone in an automatic without padle shifters, and even those that do have paddle shifters are often nothing like actually shifting in a manual, has to shift the moment the computer decides to.
