7z is better for compression, but I used rars so that I could be sure other people could unpackage them. As I recall only 7zip can work with 7z files. Yeah, it's free, but people might not know.

I'd recommend it. With Surf/Earthquake/Ice Beam/whatever you want, you can deal with damn near anything.

Then again, in FireRed, the most difficult part of the game was leveling six pokemon equally. Beating trainers was easy, having Charizard not be twice as leveled as other pokemon was hard, even when I tried.

Keeping it evenly leveled would have meant a lot more grinding on some pokemon.
