I was 175lbs 5'10" back in those days


Now I wont drink more than 2 in a night and I probably drink malt liquor like twice a year I usually drink whiskey or bourbon now or just whatever mid level ales they have on tap

I've drank more St. Ides than Cube.

It's actually the commercials that got me drinking St. Ides way back in 1992.

I was working in a bar and every night I'd go into the kitchen at 8:00 to listen to the top 8 at 8 on WJLB. I didn't really listen to it for the mucis though I'd listen to it because they woudl have a commercial break right before the number one song and a St. Ides commercial would usually be played. It was Ice Cube and the line I remember was "I drink and drink and drink and then I burp."

I have an actual CD with all the St. Ides commercial but this one commercial isn't on it so it's very hard to find.

I live in Canada but right across from Detroit (luckily) so St. Ides was not available here but while hanging out with my friends in the D one night my friends car broke down in front of a liqour store so while he worked on it I went in to get us some brews. Sure enough I saw St. Ides for the very first time and had to have some.

The asshole muzzie working the counter would not accept my Canadian drivers licence though even though I was 21 and but there were a couple gang-bangers in the store at the time and they said they would get the St. Ides for me.

Sure enough they did and I bought them one too and we ended up partying out front of that store all night gettin hammered on St. Ides.

It was fucking awesome! and I was hooked on the S T Period I D E.

It never did come to canada until 1997 but I was going to the D 2 or 3 times a week to buy my Ides and I stopped drinking shitty Canadian beer cold turkey.

The next 15 years of my life were completely controlled by my St. Ides state of mind and I was drunk more than I was sober.
