You can't pick stocks. You cannot day trade. You make money on the market by capital gains and dividends of mutual funds. The market is going to go up and down. You hold what you have and quarterly you get dividend payments. You hold those funds and at the end of the year you get capital gains. You cannot make money off the market by trading. Day trading has never worked. The best you can do by day trading is break even. Hold and adjust your account by age. The only way to make money of the market by day trading is if you're a millionaire and can afford the loses.
>>

>>
>>682998318

Bullshit.

I see people recommend this every day and it's always someone with a memory of less than 10 years. The market is diversifying - buy and hold strategies inevitably under perform and people always cherry pick stocks as good examples in retrospect. The only way to make any real money is to dig into out of favor companies.
>>
>>682996797
Stay away from commodities. There's my opinion but it's fact coming from a financial advisor. Don't bet in risk. You will not get rich quick in the market. It's long term investing. Invest, hold and collect on dividends and capital gains. If you don't have a million to to play with you're doomed to fail. People don't make money on market fluctuation in the market. They make money buy return. Return on dividends, interest and capital gains. But to get those you have to hold the investment. You can't predict the market. Make an investment and hold onto it.
>>

Total noob just done some virtual stocks
>>
>>682998318
You don't know what you're talking about.

I've day traded exclusively for the past 7 years. Not a millionaire by any stretch. I've made between 12% and 28% year-over-year... Never had a single year of loss.

It's very simple: Buy and sell with trends.

Markets up 3+ days in a row = SELL EVERYTHING
Markets up 7+ days in a row = BUY INVERSE ETFs
Markets down 7+ days in a row = BUY ETFs

If market isn't trending (is moving both up and down) then you don't take part. Wait it out. Sometimes for months.

You will make money.
>>
>>682998875
cant agree with ya man, ive done great with swing trades

hell, look at Gig.
shits at 2.15 and i know for a fucking fact its going to be 3+ dollars AGAIN by next earnings report.
(valuable info got by the chatroom btw)

shit isnt rocket science
>>
>>682998437
And you are full of shit and a liar. It doesn't work that way. You know nothing about the market. Let me correct myself. If you invested ten million you may have made that 3000 in six weeks. That would be a .03% return. Good job. Keep it up.

I told you the only secret you need to know.

Complex stock tips is like fat people and fad diets. It's all a scam to pretend like you don't just need to eat less.

Buy when there's a week-long down trend. Sell after the 3-day recovery.
>>
>>682999255
You are full of shit. The market does not work that way. You are lying. The market is not a get rich quick scheme. It's long term investing. If we had the time I would bet you that If I invested $10 a week for 20 years as opposed to your day trading I would have 100 times more money than you. It's called Dollar Cost Averaging. Look it up. It works and it is real. The answer to making money off the market is to start investing early in life, make small deposits and hold your investments. It's not thinking you have the Derby the horse. That rarely works. Unless you bought GE back in the 60's or Apple back in the 80's. And if you did, that's pure luck.

You're gonna lose all your money if you listen to this guy.

Secondly. If you want to trust multiple guys try a mutual fund. That's a group of people that analyze the market and put together a portfolio of stocks, CD's and bonds and sell it as one product. This guy is trying to steel your money.

Alcoa? Really? They hit their peak. Good past dividend payment but that's WAS it. But they couldn't keep it up. Their high was 2007 and 2008. After the 2008 recession they lost at least 50% of their value and lowered their dividends. They barely have a 1% yield. If you have the money invest in a jumbo CD. You break even but have a lower a beta.

Alcoa? What have you been reading. Ivesting for Dummies?
