Yeah, it is generally regarded as dangerous ecosystem-wise. People are pretty pissed and concerned about them being there, but they've made it their home now, and aren't going to be going anywhere anytime soon. I personally think it's kind of awesome that Florida has giant snakes running around vying for apex predator, but there's no denying it's upset the balance of things a bit.
And I know in the technical sense of the word it "snows" in the south, but believe me, you guys do not know what snow is. I have seen the kind of feeble snowy days that shut down whole cities in your part of the country, and they are the kind of days that people way up north would drive through without snow tires on no different than they would on any sunny day.

"Exotic animal hunt" season-type activities are part of the reason WHY we don't have many awesome monsters in North America anymore. But I know what you mean, it's like you can't have them if you keep battling them to death, but then why have them if you can't battle them? It's tricky business.
You probably could pretty much go open season on Burmese pythons in Florida, though. They are not particularly wanted around there, or acknowledged as a canonical presence worth retaining. Not sure on the details since I don't live anywhere near there myself, but you might look into it.
We've still got grizzly bears, black bears, cougars, wolves, and moose as strong battle monsters up in the PNW, so we're faring better than most. Not many poisonous/status-effect-casting types though. Other than skunks, I guess. We do have rattlesnakes in eastern Washington, contrary to what books and such will tell you, but they are extremely rare. Not many people who live here even know of their existence in the area.
