Got 25% for anatomy in end of block test, have an end of region coming up in a weekly at I haven't started for yet, if I fail this shit I'm probably going to have to repeat the year fml. Anyone have anatomy study tips for me?
>>
Only one grade back so far, a shit philosophy elective. I got a high B, but I also didn't go to class once, did my two essays so drunk I was barely awake, and just read the textbook the night before the exam.
>>
>>681825509
Will that convince them to give us all acadmic passes? Considering my options here

>what's purpose of it in the application?
Ok, linear algebra helps you develop abstract mathematical objects, like fields, rings, and vector spaces.
This is useful in a lot of areas, such as coding theory and machine learning.
The basic idea is that whenever we have a problem, we try to find some nice way of representing it. If we're able to say that we can represent it as a problem over a vector space, etc, then that's good, since we can use any of the very useful properties that vector spaces have.
So it's basically defining a new framework plus a bunch of useful properties of it that you can later use by trying to fit to other problems.
In coding theory, we represent codewords as a subspace, and use linear algebra properties to derive a fuckton of useful stuff.

Also, another application is that using matrix notation sometimes makes things easier to write, etc.

Signals?
Do you mean signals and systems, like fourier transform, etc?

Im sorry to hear, but hey you're not alone. We're in the same boat, it may be sinking, but we're all in it together. Like titanic, it was fun, a good idea, then iceberg.

I can't help with anatomy, if I knew I would.

But yes guys, every one, lets get to work. I move the notion we all post our work as proof and go our ways

Need to learn from scratch about 20% of pic related for next Monday. Wish me luck. Good luck to you all
>>
>>681830365
Well anon, I don't think its fair to compare signals and linear algebra. One is a specific application whereas the other is a mathematical framework.
Like signals uses fourier transforms, which are just transformations over an infinite basis. In linear algebra, you can represent linear transforms using matrices and they have cool properties, like the rank-nullity theorem, etc.

If you want practicality, well I guess signals is used a lot in everyday life, because - literally signals. All sorts of communication requires either a fourier transform/laplace transform or Z transform to figure out the math. SO yeah, it has a lot of practical application...
On the other hand, linear algebra is used in other mathematical fields, but not directly as n end product as signals is. It's used in coding theory(for analysis, etc), in machine learning(lots of matrix operations), theory of computation(in tons of proof), but I guess apart from ML, there are no direct practical applications.

Did my undergrad in India, doing my PhD in US.
The usa cucks have some sort of international quota to fill and they look at literally any degree.

Have no regrets having done my undergrad in india, since seeing the other students in my univ, they all do shit math, having learnt in an american univ. Seriously, they fumble with the simplest of math - I'm easily the best there, and I wasn't even that good back in India.
>>
>>681830838
You probably know a lot more than I do so I'm not going to argue, all I'm trying to say is that you're wrong and signals is the tightest shit ever
