It has the kind of slow build up to set a great climax for the end, where every death should have some weight thanks to a solid investment in each actor and the plot; but falls short with a far too quick ending (and removal of key players), lacklustre characters and conversations, and fairly bland story and end set piece.

As personal opinion, i find Samuel Jackson's character acting boring and frankly cringe-worthy this many years on. Tarantino's camera work and set is rather bland given he went Kubrick on the camera choice (watch the Revenant for a far prettier affair). And, much like Jackson's characters, the script just doesn't have the charm of some of his earlier works.

I think many people have a solid understanding of what makes a movie good or bad. I'm not claiming in any way that that understanding is in any way unique. And even then, there is a lot of subjectivity that goes along with it. But when people are being put to sleep and booing the movie, it speaks volumes to the films quality. Well I didn't see the trailer so I don't know about that. And only the second time watching I found out there are a million clues to the plottwist. Still I enjoyed it.
