nope. no melons.
0 melons

its 8 dip shits
5.. 5 fucking watermelons
>>681275207
Well if the question is how many melons are here (regardless of wholeness) the answer would be either 6 or 8 (depending on if the melons in the centre were cut from the same watermelon or not.
If the question is how many whole melons can we make, the answer is 5.
If the answer is how many whole melons are here. The answer is none
>>681275652
how so? split the top and bottom half and give a quarter to each of the corner melons. then put the other two halves together to make five. Are you fucking retarded?
>>681275207
5. Easy
4.25 melons
>>681275721
>>681275728
Winner. At most eight melons. At least 6.
>>681275743
>implying the melons weren't cut in half
Fucking pleb
>>681275207
5
Take the middle ones that gives you 2
Take one of the outer ones and split it into 1/4 and add those slices to the other three to complete them making 3
2+3=5
Unless it's le tricky questions and it's 8 individual watermelons that have been cut up thus making it "8 watermelons"
>>681275652
how so?
4 of those melons are missing 1/4th you add those 4 melons with the misisng 1/4th together and it makes 3 and then you have 4 pieces of melon each piece is half you add those together it makes 2
2 + 3 = 5
Two Plus Three Equals Five
are you seriously this fucking stupid?
4
>>681275207
Obviously 6. 2 halved, 4 with the corners cut out. Which remains 6 watermelons even though there is technically 5 watermelons' worth displayed.
>>681275207
Minimum: 6. Max: 8
Assuming half of melon A + half of melon B does not equal one whole melon.

fuckin /thread man. gg
>>681275207
in the picture, there are 5 FULL watermelons. However, saying something is simply a "watermelon" isn't classifying the amount or size, so technically there ate 8 watermelons, or more specifically 8 pieced of watermelon

So suddenly when you cut a watermelon in half it is no longer a watermelon? What is it then, patrician?
>>681275207
It's one of those things where there are more than one right answer depending on how you look at it. If it said "How many melons can be made whole with what is here" the answer is 5. If it's "How many melons are in this picture then it's 6, assuming the 4 halves in the center are halves of the same melon.
Clearly 5.
Take the half melon up top and apply it equally to the other top 3/4 melons. That makes 2.
Do the same to the bottom. That makes 4.
Then put the two remaining half melons together. That makes 5.

SUMMATION OF THREAD HERE:

5 melons if you added the parts together
6 (or more) melons required to make the image
no melons because it's just a picture of melons and not actual melons, so the question is invalid

Five.
>>681275207
well I can tell you that the mere existance of the watermelones means there are no niggers around
so good thread OP
>>681276315
But it's not asking how many whole melons you can make.
It's asking HOW MANY ARE THERE?
Well there is a quarter cut out of 4 different watermelons and those halves certainly cannot be from those melons. Therefore they are from different melons.
The real question is where the 4 halved melons are from the same melons or if they are 4 halves of melons we can't see.
Therefore the answer is 6 or 8. Like I've previously stated here.
>>681275833
>>681275652
Yes, but we're also right.
>>681276633
Could be 7 too, following your interpretation of the question
>>681275743
Now we count mellons on par with people? :o
5
>>681275207
What Melons?
>>681276766
Of course, you are correct. I made the assumption that if two of the watermelons of the center are half of a watermelons we cannot see therefore all must be. However you are completely correct that two could be halves of one we cannot see. and the two remaining could be halves of the same watermelon.
Appreciate it.
>>681275207
technically 2
>>681275207
2 full watermelons + 4 watermelons that are actually 3/4 a watermelon each.
2 +(4 * 3/4) = 2 + (3) =
5 watermelons total
5
>>681275207
Depends on what you mean when you say to count the melons:
Six melons were required to take this photo.
But if you pretend that the quarters removed were merged into halves, then a total of five whole melons are present- even though six are required to take this photo.
This is actually a good example for teaching the Commutative Property of Addition as a thought strategy rather than a rule.
Step aside, I'm a scientist.
3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 2/4 + 2/4 + 2/4 + 2/4
= 16/4 = 4
16 quarter-melons, or 4 whole melons
6, 8, 7, or 5, depending on how the question is meant to be interpreted. Though it's probably just one of those troll questions designed to bait arguments.
>>681276220
the edge is real
>>681277270
Atleast* Six melons were required with a maximum up to 8
You don't know about behind the scenes.
>>681275207
If you count the whole AMOUNT of melon it's about 5, but it would take at least 6 melons to make that picture
>>681275207
there are 4 3/4 melons and 4 1/2 melons
>>681275207
It's all a matter of perspective.
If you're asking for the total amount of watermelon represented in the picture, the answer would be equivalent to five whole watermelons.
However, if you're asking for how many watermelons are represented in the picture, regardless of how they are sliced, the answer could be either six (assuming the four melon halves were created from two previously whole melons) or eight (if the half melons were taken from four individual whole melons).
You're going to have to be more specific.
>>681275652
(You)
5 full watermellons
8 not full watermelons
Technically there are 8. The answer is 8.

check your math, that's twenty quarters. so five melons
>>681275652
(.75*4)+(.5*4)=/= 5. Wut.
>>681277321
what a brilliant way to show that even your humor is autistic to the core
3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 = 12/4 = 3
1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 = 4/2 = 2
3 + 2 = 5 melons
>>681277379
are you serious? the edges are fake af, its obviously shopped
>>681277321
Your math needs work anon
3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 2/4 + 2/4 + 2/4 + 2/4
= 20/4 = 5
>>681277321
that's 20/4, you twat

Minimum 4, maximum 5.
Can't be sure if the inner pieces are halves or quarters.
>>681276032
Because half or 3/4 of a melon is still considered a melon. Would you say 1 watermelon is not a watermelon if someone took a bite out of it? Or would you say that's 98% a watermelon?
>>681277771
now look at that pretenderedge
kekd a little
There's two answers.
Melons needed to make the picture: 6
Melons if you mash them together: 5
I fucking hate these things.
>=6 & <= 8
>>681278134
would you cut 1 watermelon in half and then say you now have 2 watermelons?
>>681275207
in between 6 to 8.. The square is perfect so 2 of the halves came from the same melon, but the other two aren't perfect halves, rather shaven peices to match the exact diameter of the first halved melon. Or 4 separate halved melons all shaved to match the same length. Or 2 halved melons but with no perfect halves because they were all shaved to match the perfect length.
Enough to make a small group of niggers happy?
>>681277842
But it is not expressly stated in the question.
The fact of the matter is, you are dealing with 3/4 and 2/4's.
You should be aware that 3/4 + 2/4 does not a whole make. Therefore it can be assumed that the watermelon is not of the same origin.
This sort of picture is devised to create different answers because it sparks actual logical thought. Rather than. I CAN MAKE FIVE.
Sure whole ness is implied when asking about a total number of items, but it did not state that. Therefore the answer is anywhere from 5-8.
>>681275207
0 whole melons, but an amount equal to 5 whole melons.
Alternatively, it's enough melons to keep a nigger distracted for about a week.
>>681278065
if you arent sure of the inner pieces you should count maximum 6
also this
>>681275652
>>681278134
>>681277591
>>681278453
the only correct answer
>>681277445
The question was badly defined, but what is clear is that you don't need additional melons "behind the scenes" to reach a whole number as an answer, so why complicate this by claiming that two additional melons COULD exist?
The answer is six melons were required to take this photo, as far as we can tell within reason. If you treat this as if all of the slices can be merged, even though they realistically cannot be, 5 whole melons are pictured. But, if you took a hybrid approach and simply added the sections together without merging them, it's apparent that four quarters are sitting somewhere off to the side- in which case, the hybrid approach would indicate that 5 melons were pictured and the equivalent of one whole was not- for a total of six.
Basically, no matter how you look at it, there must be six melons for this photograph to have been taken.
>>681275207
each corner is 0.75
there are 4 corners
0.75 * 4 = 3
each center piece is 0.5
there are 4 center pieces
0.5 * 4 = 2
total:
5

You can make 5 whole melons with what's there, but at least 6 melons were used to form that shape.

there's 5 melons worth of melon, but 6 were required.
