Swapped to a CRKT M16-13T because I'm so attached to the shape/weight/balance of the Gerber Evo that I wanted as close as I could get. I usually do finger and palm rolls with it open when I'm bored because I'm an edgy faggot like that.

cheap stiletto in situation where i might lose / damage my blade (hiking, fishing, etc)
>>
>>681138288
I have no idea
It's not even stainless handles...they're aluminum. I'd like to carry more aggressive knives but I feel weird pulling them out in public. I was leaning towards the 14t but after I carried my friends for a day I said fuck that noise
>>

That's my issue with these and non locking vintage knives. It's not that I need force all the time. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
>>
Too lazy to go take a pic, but a Kershaw RJ-II. Solid, cheap knife.
>>
>>681138764
grip is simple but i wouldnt call it shit. they're also stronger than it seems. can cut through ~1cms wood if you're short of something else. i carry it for everyday use if im in the woods i'll have the right tools for the right job.

I also wouldn't call it a POS since it's aluminum handles and has lasted me 8-10 years

I like benchmades but for right now it's outside of my comfortable price range. Couldn't tell you how many times I've misplaced my Gerber. It's not really an anxiety issue when your knife is a POS but once you hit $100 it's less casual.

did a quick google and here's my pasta

NZ laws basically say you can carry a knife if you have a legitimate reason for doing so. Of course, it's not you that gets to decide if your reason is legitimate.

It's worth reading the PDF you can download here:
http://www.justice.govt.nz/publicati...ife-possession

This is from the 'Customs Prohibition Order' about illegal switchblades:
"Any knife having a blade that opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring, or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife (sometimes known as a flick knife or flick gun)."
Now this caught me out, when I bought an assisted opening flipper from overseas, and Customs confiscated it.
I pointed out to Customs where anyone can buy a knife of that type as they are readily available to buy in NZ, like this Kershaw Leek:
http://www.blademaster.co.nz/shop/ex...1660SWBLK.html
But Customs has the authority, and didn't accept this fact, and I lost the knife. Clearly, there needs to be clearer definitions on 'assisted opening' type folders and automatics (switchblades) so the authorities actually know what their dealing with.

Assisted openers are readily available here, but their expensive and the range is limited, so I buy from overseas. But its hit and miss if Customs find and confiscate it.
>>
a buck 288, my aunt gave it to me, i rarely use it and almost never carry it around but it comes in handy.

I have a govx account so I can get some of the models for pretty cheap but compared to the $60 I paid for the titanium CRKT it's not as good of a deal. I'll probably just carry this until it dies and by then I'll have my real job that pays the big boy bucks and money won't be an issue.

got some old ones like these that used to belong to my dad and grandad. they're fairly common on "brocantes" as well. you'll find them in almost any carpenter / wood worker / shoe maker tool box.

curious about the handle mod on yours.

u frenchfag too ?
>>
>>681143622
proud beauceron here. almost any farmer / hunter got one in his pocket at all times here. they're just reliant, easy to carry and cheap enough to not care if you lose them.

i work in the woods a lot so like i said before i also have the right tools for everything else. there's a better tool than a pocket knife for almost everything. it's just really versatile and "kinda" good at everything.
