a lot of my companies nco's all were getting out around the same 5 month span so a few space's needed to be filled. Lot's of lances taken out of their comfort zone and made E-4, shitbag E-4's having no business being E-4's making E-5. Also intel, its a great oppurtunity for your career but there is not as much comradere as combat mos and you dont do a lot of marine kind of stuff so that sucks but you can get setup with some really good jobs once you get out of the corps.

Completed OCS on a flight contract but got medically dq'd for aircraft right afterward.

It was lamentable, yes. But unfortunately the Marine Corps held no scientific MOS that I felt compelled towards after getting the no-go on aviation. I felt I would better serve the nation servicing reactors than vying for the best I could get at TBS. I still don't know if it was the right decision. I will definitely miss the no-bullshit atmosphere.

I know that, but the way to get the clearance is to have a job where you need to know (and with how much information is classified I would imagine that having knowledge on CBRN weapons would be classified). It's easier to maintain a clearance than it is to get one, plus having one (particularly TS/SCI) makes you pretty valuable. I know that even if you have a TS clearance, you still can't just go view any information at the S/TS levels, you need to have an actually need to know in order to gain access to it. My grandfather had TS/Q clearance (he was in the Army, but he did a lot of nuke work, so he probably had a clearance through the DOE too).

I think all officers automatically get secret, though.
