Since I was little I always had this though of "I will never have kids", but as I was growing the "time to be a father" was getting near.. and now I have to really face the problem. And now I really do think that I don't want to be a father in the future.

But I am a little bit scared about what my family would think (they always think of me saying "I don't want kids" as a joke), and the other problem is to find a girl who is into this too.

For free time, I used to motorcycle quite a bit, but I recently moved and sold the bike. Hoping to get a new one in a year or so. I am a big sports fan, so I've got baseball, hockey and soccer season tickets. Always grab a few drinks before and after games, so I get out and meet new people often. And live music is always great, plenty of that where I live.

It's not for everyone.... I have a girlfriend who had 2 kids from a previous marriage. It can be at times very rewarding, especially since the 8 year old LOVES to spend time with me as much as possible. It can also be overwhelming and dissatisfying to have to give up things you want to do for others all the time. Looking after kids who are not your own can be a bit thankless at times. I believe a biological connection with one's kids is more rewarding and yields more unconditional love and admiration, at least until the teenage years.

I'm 33 and engaged. I've wanted to do the child-free thing for the past 10 years, or so. The idea of having kids is something I can safely say I don't want.

My partner is 37. She's a computer programmer for American Family Insurance and makes about twice as much as I make. We live in a condo in a decent part of town. I recently bought a motorcycle and play hockey 3-4 nights a week. We've taken week long vacations, which would be difficult or impossible to do if we had kids. I even went as far as to have a vasectomy, which makes sex amazing.

Life is great, my future looks great, and having kids would just complicate it.

My wife and I's parents proudest achievements are their children. Career wise they're insanely successful. Between our parents there are 4 bachelor's, 3 Masters's, & 1 PhD.

Our generation is very successful too. Passing on good genes is a necessity. Also having children and raising them is more rewarding than anything else.
