ITT: WE POST COOL FUTURISTIC MILITARY SHIT
Hey /b, lets show eachother weaponized or militarized images that interest or intrigue us
>concept art
>real pictures
>tech
>realistic or made up
>informative shit
>ideas
>whatever the hell you consider badass and interests you
I'll try to get this thread moving
Tank that is equipped to combat thermal imaging through stealth low heat-signature armor paneling .
>>680778580
im excited but scared of what the future has in stall for military conflicts. Honestly its most likely going to stay conventional weaponry for a very long time and most fighting will be cyber warfare. The US Pentagon is currently legislating the Rules of Engagement for US cyber conflicts
>>680778825
The paneling is also able to form heat signatures replicating specific objects. One example of this is it's ability to appear as a car through thermal imaging onlookers.
>>680778872
I believe we will, if not already, reach a point in which the idea of militarized total war between opposing nations is so un-beneficial to both sides that it wouldn't even be regarded as a possible option. However the tech and other shit is still interesting if you think about what we could create in the case that there was a futuristic total war.
Anyone out there...
Come on guys I can't be the only one who has a fetish for this shit... I know its late but no one..?
>>680779340
zero sum theory. Once both sides reach a point where they cannot surpass each other militarily. We are nearly there, although the new cold war we are entering will probably change things up with all the proxy wars that will soon be happening in Africa
>>680779673
What makes you think there's an upcoming cold war?
>>680779835
both powers want to expand their powers
Africa is (arguably) the only continent left largely untouched by political ideology and alligences. Plus the fact that it is rich in resources and provides large territories and its strategic position geographically...i would be surprised if China vs US vs Russia wouldnt try to colonise them to its full potential
>>680779494
Yeah, top of your head is a shit place for a battery pack.
>>680780365
Tell me what a better location would be then.

>>680781603
Beaut of a ship. I'm currently waiting for my Freelancer MIS. Ik the base it out but the MIS should be a sweet missile boat. I also have a few others like the Avenger which should have bounty-hunting potential.
>>680781620
Most of my mutuals are cyberpunk/scifi/military themed. We post off eachother haha.
>>680780914
Somewhere away from direct sunlight, preferably hidden as the heat sig would stand out like a blinking light on top of your head.
It would also snag on things you might crawl under.
So many reasons.
Why would you put it there anyway?
I don't care if it's apparently impossible to build one. I want it.
>>680781929
Ah, well anyways nice taste brutha
Anyone know the status of EVE Valkry or whatever its called, I use to think it had lost of potential due to its VR compatibility. However it inst meeting my expectations...
>>680782120
>>680781513
Ship designs like this give me a little bit of a stiff.
>>680782240
Yeah the rugged design with hints of modern aviation make me hard as armor.
>>680782084
Hmm I didn't think about the heat it would probably produce.. Id probably put it in an obvious well situated place such as a pouch or maybe even a heat reflective/containing pouch
>>680782489
I love these photo realistic pictures and shit, is this from a movie?
>>680782514
Still want it to cool off though, might explode.
What am I saying, it's the future.
Batteries are magical in the future.
damn beautiful
>>680782668
Unless by then we have overcome the need to produce friction and heat even in batteries ;). We may need to brake the laws of physics though...
>>680782573
Don't know . Got it from ''Devtac Japan''

That mech is bitchen, how does one produce content like this?
>>680784077
Still one of my favorites
>>680785770
Most of this stuff is concept art. I used to go to concept art forums and just search 'sci fi' and see what i could save, until the forum i used changed its search feature. I can still do a bit of this on Deviant art.
This is the most badass future military equipment
just a bit of alt art for flavour.

really wanted to see that in a full length movie.

Appreciated

Let me tell you why this idea is shit:
1.
Solar panels are pretty inefficient - they may be able to power lights and small computers, but moving parts (motors) need much more power then a solar panel could possibly deliver. If you dropped these with large batteries and fossil fuel motors this might just work.
2.
there is a reason why bullets are put in a long tube before firing them - not bringing a barrel drastically reduces the effectiveness of ammunition - either those should be rockets (and not as shown in the video some sort of tank shells) or give the device a tank-like turret
The concept of mine-like turrets is pretty nice though because a mostly buried turret that would just watch and expand on enemy sight could be either autonomously or controlled by a human. They would be like mines, but more expensive and more scary.
>experimental tank suppressor
WHAT IS THIS!:

Where can I find more info and watch this... Cant find it anywhere..
>>680787432
There were two videos iirc, a teaser trailer like 2 minutes in length and the full movie being like 3 minutes, there's probably 4 minutes of footage between the two.
It was basically an advertisement for their visual effects department and never intended to go further afaik.
Sorry more like mega jihadist 2050
>>680788348
>implying they won't still be using jezails and enfields
Dead?
>>680785315
