New to the series, played 100+ hours of MGS5, then borrowed my friend's PS3 to play this game. My first run ever was on European Extreme, no kills.

Hands down one of the greatest games I've ever played

First metal gear game I ever played, still think its the best metal gear so far.

I really don't see why there is so much disdain for Raiden, I can't think of a more "Metal Gear" type character than him. I think he was just introduced too soon into the series but Kojima has already stated that he planned to make MGS2 the final game in the series at the time.

This is why I like him, he's not a cookie cutter hero like snake was in the earlier games (before you slam your fist of righteous opinionated truth on your keyboard hear me out). Snake was based of a couple of 80s-90s action heroes like Snake Plissken, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Van Damme. I love how snake changes throughout the series but Raiden embodies an almost polar like persona compared to snake which is very refreshing to see.
