Heroin/crackhead here. I can tell you're still kinda new to the hard drugs by the way you say that a crack addiction isn't a real addiction. I physically NEED heroin to get through the day, but if I'm on the block with my last $10, I'll seriously debate whether or not I want a bag of dope or a dime of hard. I guess we can say to each their own, but I actually do find the separation from crack to be draining. While not as lengthy as heroin withdrawal, I've never been so much of a fiend than when I run out of crack after smoking through $50. I could be sweating and sitting in a pile of my own shit and still choose to cop my rock before I get my dope (if I'm not getting them both from the same block). This has been a recent development for me, in the past year. I've been doing dope since I was 23 (30 now) and never did I think my love for dope could be replaced. I had smoked rock many times before, but in the past year it's actually become a problem. You know it's a problem when your junkie friends tell you they're worried about you.
