When I was your age, I couldn't wait to move out and for "real life" to begin. Here's the thing, real life is sooo much shittier than just going to school, having fun, and living under your parents roof.

Most people are downwardly mobile in the US these days which means their adult life will be much poorer and shittier than the conditions they grew up in.

Sure, their ideology might be fucked. The fact that you pay for a cell phone but don't have compete freedom with it is fucked.... but you have it MUCH better than you realize.

1) making sure you go to sleep when it's bed, not text, watch porn, play games etc on your phone to 1am. The idea is good, but it doesn't teach you the willpower to do it on your own.
2) It gives them unfettered access to your phone once you go to bed. Every single ultra religious parents I've ever known have believed it's their right to snoop on the children.
