You know what it is? Vinnie (who I think is one of the best guitarists/back-up vocalists out there) wrote a lot of the lyrics. And they needed a lot more editing, because they don't fit the rhythm of the music. For instance, the emphasis ends up hitting a lot of the wrong syllables to make them fit, and it just sounds off. Plus, words could have been removed to make the lines flow better, etc.
