I worked for a guy when I was 17 who took a liking to me and shared a lot of advice and experience with me.

Once he told me about the first business he started.....and failed. Lost $20k.
Started another.....and failed. Lost $250k.
Started a third business and nailed it. At the time, his business was worth, I believe he said, $11 million.

So, being a dumb kid, I said "So, you'd be over $250k richer if you hadn't started those first 2 businesses."

"No", he said, "I'd be $11 million poorer"

I thought a lot about that.
And after I worked for a few years after getting out of college, I started my own business.

Luckily, I succeeded on the first try.
