Also suggesting Name of the Wind as well. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it, you'll be so enthralled with it by page 1.
I'd highly suggest it as well if you're into fantasy/fiction stories with magic and what not.
>TFW I had to look up words in the dictionary when reading The Name of the Wind
The book made me realize how shitty my vocabulary is because a lot of the words Rothfuss uses isn't really words we use in everyday language, it will increase your vocabulary though which I found was nice. Now I can use complex words in everyday conversation to seem superior and far more intelligent compared to others, it's great.
TL;DR Read the fucking book it's amazing
>>678718864
I was gonna recommend this. Fantastic read and the sequel is pretty good too
>>678721900
book 4 is a brief history of the main gunslinger as a youth, with his pals, at odds with local bounty hunters in a village supporting a warring faction. he falls in love with total waifu-tier teenbabe, outsmarts the fucking shit out of the village thugs and becomes a hardened take no shit, heartless motherfucking badass by the end.
book 5, let's hang out in a villaga assaulted by Doctor Doom mask wearing robots who use lightsabers and throw golden snitch grenades from Harry Potter (no i'm not exaggerating). Let's toss calahan in there so that something actually interesting happens. the end
book 6, read 2x now, cant think of a single thing that happens besides susanna giving birth maybe? or is that in book 7? literally cant remember
book 7, everyone dies: let's rescue patrick from Insomnia who defeats satan in a dumb yet very stephen king way, the circle completes itself only this time something has changed. the end.
The catcher in the rye, The Great Gatsy, 1984 by Orwell, Clockwork Orange etc.
read some classics and if you've read all those then i can recommend more

>>678723328
honestly, give it a shot if you have a few months to set aside, everyones opinion is different. just be aware of a drop in quality.
it made me revisit a ton of King books looking for connections though, which adds another layer of depth. even IT, is Bev of the lineage of Eld? Did Gan influence the Loser's Club directly? obviously they're all in line with Ka, but did the crimson king have any influence?
the larger universe it builds is more impressive than it's platform, but 1-4 are great reads
