Along those lines, play the Rune Factory games. Tides of Destiny was my favorite for that.

In Rune Factory, you have to fight monsters, sure, but you're rewarded at the end where you can farm all you want and woo the women in town.

Just found Settlers 2 10th anniversary edition for 9 eurobucks on GOG.

Totally worth it. Still the best of the series imho.

What are some games where you build your own base? I think building bases is comfy as fuck. It needs to be a game where you can actually go into your base and chill, so no RTS. Preferably the game wouldn't be about building bases, but it should play a non trivial role. It needs to serve as a resort from the dangers outside the base to really feel comfy.
A few I've already played:
>Minecraft, basically unlimited base building
>Terraria, much like Minecraft, but there's invasion events happening all the fucking time, and zombies and shit WILL invade your home taking away the comfyness
>Fallout 3/NV base building mod, pretty good for a mod, kinda limited, also no comfy tilesets
>WoW:WoD Horde garrison, pretty comfy, very limited building though. Also ruined the late game
