For the last ~5 years I've been very localized chest pains. Its been on the left side right around thee armpit. My doctor years ago said it was just a muscle strain, but it never went away. it appears you have deep tissue abrasions, keep bacitracin ointment on it, and keep it covered. make sure you maintain nice soft pink tissue, keep it washed and if there is excessive scabbing make sure its soaked in neosporin/bacitracin ointment and debride as necessary. (that means pick the scabs off, its ok if it bleeds underneath thats a good sign.)

as long as you dont get worsening/growing redness or any sort of yellow or green discharge there's no worries. the wound does not appear in that way, it just looks dried out and irritated. peroxide causes tissue necrosis on epithelial tissue. so if your getting excessive scabbing thats probably your cause, stop doing that.

tl/dr, looks good stop using peroxide. keep it soaked and soft in bacitracin/neosporin oitment. if it drips puss or green shit or swells and gets puffy red get to the fucking hospital immediately. fuck the bills its not worth your leg.

DO NOT USE ANY MORE H202. It resets the healing process, prolongs scabbing, and is probably the reason you still have these battle wounds. Had a scar of comparable size in August that took prob around 2 weeks or more to heal fully (also road rash). So no more peroxide, pick off current scab but don't touch next ones, get some comfrey salve and rub that shit on, but don't put bandages over as they will need to stay dry. You'll have to go to the doctor to find out whether it's bacterial or fungal.

But my hypothesis is that the reason it gets worse when you wrap it up is that the extra moisture from your skin and environment under the bandage is causing it to grow.

You have to go to the hospital, things like this don't just affect your skin, they can potentially spread to any organ in your body.

Everyone is assuming the hospital will fix you right away.
That is a farce. There is no guarantee the doctors themselves will even know what you have, they'll have to grow a culture and attack it with various perceptions before they can even fix you

First of all, SEE A DOCTOR ASAP. That shit might be on it's way to a serious infection, if it isn't infected alreadu.

Now just FYI hydrogen peroxide isn't that great at killing germs compared to alcohol. It's mainly used for debridement. Use ethyl alcohol instead (vodka or any other type of clear unsweetened liquor). Also, you probably should let it air out sometimes. By keeping it constantly wrapped, you are trapping moisture and not letting it scab over. That clear liquid leaking out is probably lymph, which is fine, but could be clear pus. If you get any colored liquid, you are in serious trouble and should have seen a doctor ages ago. Also, remove that dead skin, it could cause infection.

Don't let it turn into sepsis of the blood. You will die.

No it's not terrible infected, yes you shouldn't wrap it all the time and you are using way to much peroxide. Chill. You're over doing the treatment. That is some nasty road rash, but it's not medical maggot bad. So relax would you? Clean bandages, looser, less peroxide, more gel. And try not to touch it more than that. Also showers, not baths. Hydrotherapy does not work and bath water is far from sterile.

Wound care:

No peroxide or sprays (hard to say without knowing what it is). Will do more harm than good.

Wash with soap and water. Current guidelines advise AGAINST using triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporin). Instead cover with a small amount of Vaseline. Then bandage. Monitor and change dressing at least daily.

Any expansion of the red area, swelling, pain or systemic symptoms (fever, etc) and get your ass to urgent care/ED

It's normal, takes awhile for that much skin to regenerate. Probably want to consider topical antibiotic like neosporin and keep it clean. Get some of those large gauze squares, impregnate with some bana na na na, Neo, bana nana nana na, Sporin.
Then use soft pressure with medical tape to secure it. change the dressing after you shower, see a doctor if you get any weird smells or swelling/fever that indicates an infection.

Rn here. Stop treating it with hydrogen peroxide, it slows the healing. Wrap it during the day, rinse it in the morning and before bed, let it be exposed to the air during the night. Abrasions like this take weeks. It looks like it's healing. I give it another month.

You need to go to the hospital for tetanus OP. Symptoms can still start to show up after a week. It can kill you or give agonizing pain. Even with medical treatment if I'm not mistaken.
