It is, it just blows me away what a racket it is. You're right about it being an investment. Assuming US law continues its current track, then there will never be any new machine guns for sale to the public. The same ones from 30+ years ago are going to circulate until they end up permanently in safes and museums somewhere, and the only full autos around are contraband.

The price is inflated like crazy because of the artificially limited supply due to the federal laws. It's an outrage. It's almost there now, but it is quickly reaching the point where the guns are basically historic antiques.

Yes, but dude, it's not what you think. The laws are very specific that you CAN NOT have a class 3 license for the purpose of expanding your personal collection. That's the first thing thought of years ago and found out quickly that's a big no no.

In the process of becoming a Class 3 dealer you also grant the federal government the right to come inspect the guns at any time they want.

shortly after i finished the paperwork they made it so you needed a storefront or place of bussines , i was going to sell them out of my garage

so now i just got the collector lic and a mg and its all i need

there is some weapons called pre-1986 that ffl holders can keep if they give up there license
can get a full auto m-16 for about 7k with a dealer lic

I carry it in my weak hand pocket. It's only a pain in certain pants. I don't really feel comfortable carrying it in a belt clip mag pouch and not being a cop. Tho I actually am GA POST certified. I carry it because I'm used to carrying a G22 with 15+1 so transitioning to a 6+1 setup is bullshit capacity wise
